The Klosterschänke was my pilgrim accommodation for one night on the Pre-Alpine Way of St. James. I have rarely been welcomed so warmly. The innkeeper even organized a pilgrim stamp for me in the monastery. The dinner in a nice, entertaining atmosphere couldn't have been better. :-)

We have been guests at the Klosterschänke for a long time and have always been satisfied. However, we liked the service staff better in recent years. But the food (constructive criticism) is sometimes like a weather map, there are highs and lows and unfortunately the lows just don't work at all.Today we had e.g. E.g. pumpkin cream soup, chestnut soup, venison ragout and saddle of venison. The meat was great, the rest was a flop. The soups as well as the sauces and the vegetables for the main course were a bit salty, we know it differently (thank God). And if the menu says bread dumplings, we expect that too and not a sliced and fried dumpling left over from the day before.Of course we would like to visit the monastery taverns again but you never know what the “weather” will be like.
