Misleading Information and Unresolved IssuesI had a very disappointing experience with my stay at Hotel Fontane. When I arrived, I was given keys to an apartment that was not at the hotel next to the beach as advertised but was instead located in the middle of a village near a busy road. This was not the experience I had booked or expected.The apartment itself had several issues: the air conditioning was not working, and the shower cabin was damaged. On the next day after our arrival, I spoke with the reception to address these problems. The staff at reception were very nice but unfortunately unable to do anything to help, asking me to wait until the manager arrived. I was told the manager would come in a few hours, but when I returned later, there was still no manager available. After waiting for half a day, the manager finally arrived. She was also polite and assured me that I would receive a refund and that they would follow up with me. However, it's been two weeks, and I have received no communication or refund from them. It seems like their promise was just a lie.Overall, I would not recommend staying here due to the misleading information about the location, the poor condition of the apartment, and the lack of follow-through from the management. Potential guests should be cautious and aware of what they might encounter.

Wonderful stylish hotel in a fantastic setting. Very friendly staff and great breakfast. I felt very comfortable!

The staff reads your wishes from your lips. We were given great advice about what options we had outside of the hotel and our children were well looked after during this time. Highly recommended.

One star is actually too many...We spent our wedding anniversary in the hotel several times and often visited the restaurant and also celebrated a big birthday there...we have known the Fontanehotel since it opened and have always been very satisfied.However, what we experienced there at the end of July can hardly be described. Incompetence, poor service and even fraud.I don't want to comment further on the fact that you can't even get a decorated table there for your wedding anniversary, that the restaurant is staffed by unqualified staff and that there was no chef in the kitchen for breakfast, which was minimal and not in keeping with the hotel.On the evening of our wedding day we came from the room to the restaurant. The so-called decorated table was in the restaurant (The decoration was two empty glasses and the bouquet of flowers we ordered)Since the weather was beautiful, my wife wanted to sit outside. I asked the waitress if she could please move the table outside for us (outside there were only two other tables occupied and all the other tables were free and uncovered)The answer from the waitress (who, by the way, used the first name of everyone here, which is not appropriate in a place like this) was: "Nope, we've got him covered so nicely."We sat down and she then reluctantly brought the bouquet of flowers and slammed a plate with cutlery on the table.Our mood changed and we ordered food and a Limoncello Spritz.After dinner we wanted to order a Limoncello Spritz to take with us to the roof terrace.My wife somehow had an inkling that things could get worse here and bit the flesh out of her lemon slices and jokingly said to me ... Not that they put the old lemon slices back in our glasses.I stabbed mine with the straw.When we got the new drink we couldn't believe our eyes. In my wife's glass there were the old lemons that had been bitten off, the remains of the ice before the pre-drink and there were the old glasses...the same thing for me. We immediately called the waiter back (an assistant who spoke broken German) and complained to us, he took the drinks and ran to the bar without apologizing.The waitress came over and asked, “Are you okay?”I said nothing is okay....she "I'll be right there then we can talk"Shortly afterwards she came and asked what was going on. I told her about the cocktail thing, which she didn't even respond to and asked if there was anything else. I expressed our displeasure with the breakfast and the service and the impudence with the drink.Her answer was: "What are you doing to me and insulting me...I'll get my boss, we have the best lawyers and I'll get the police."We were so shocked by this cheek and reaction that we will never enter this house again.This continued when I asked the receptionist when I was paying in the morning whether she hadn't received my complaint from the previous evening. Her answer was: This is a complaint about the restaurant and it's none of my business, it's a different company!The same thing continued after I sent an email with the complaint to the management and asked for the name of the position and gave them a week's notice to clarify the matter with me.However, there was no need to answer.Where did we end up here? Where is the hospitality and service and that in a house like this where you pay a lot of money and expect something different.NEVER AGAIN FONTANEHOTEL ALTENHOF

The hotel management was very accommodating and offered us a generous solution, which we were of course happy to accept.Thank you very much for that.

I've known the Fontane restaurant for a long time! Unfortunately the operator has changed! In the past you could give the kitchen a rating of very good to good! Today's failing grade is even more exaggerated! The level has reached below a kebab shop! The staff is unqualified and has no gastronomic skills! Today's cake is served in a more sophisticated way at the Ostbahnhof!

A great hotel in a great location on the lake, a well-kept lawn and a beautiful little beach. The food in the restaurant is very good and the staff are without exception friendly and accommodating.
