I can actually only advise against the Select Hotel Berlin Checkpoint Charlie.But let’s start with: what’s good? Reception is nice, no waiting time when checking in, the room is large. The shower's temperature and water pressure can be freely adjusted. The breakfast is good, checkout is easy.What's bad? The room is definitely worn out, with flaws in the bed and walls here and there. Soundproofing is virtually non-existent. You can hear everything in the hallway, you can hear the TV from the next room, you can even hear individual voices from the street.Besides, the worst thing in my opinion is the bathroom. As you can see in the photos, there is mold and mildew in many joints, the ventilation is a lump of dust, the shower head is a limescale paradise and there are cracks in the sinks and walls.I can definitely not recommend the hotel due to the negative aspects.

Good morning.With this review I would like to express my displeasure with this hotel. The cleanliness is terrible, we attach 5 photos that express our experience in your hotel. We think that you should invest in renovating the rooms since the feeling is not comfortable and in addition there is the smell of sewage in the bathroom (we had to buy an air freshener). So that not everything is negative, the staff at reception was very friendly, but we will certainly not return here since the negative points are much stronger.Thanks, have a nice day.

Crap hotel will never stay there again,we arrived at 11am.we accept that was early and we were told the room wouldn't be ready until 3pm.We then went back at 3pm and were told the room wasn't ready in the meantime a bus full of people came in and dispatched to their rooms I asked if our room was ready and the chap on reception told us irritably it still wasn't ready finally at 4pm we were given our room.we paid for an upgraded room but the one we had didn't have a chair or fridge,and frankly it was pretty basic sorry for my rant but very disappointed with the hotel

The room didn't have air conditioning and they were having a heatwave which was totally unbearable. Breakfast was not good enough it was literally just cold food there. One toaster for everybody and it was full. One morning there was no room to have breakfast so I ended up going out. When I tried to check in the guy told me basically I had to wait 30 minutes so I couldn't check in until after 2:30 but I was certain that the room was ready anyway. Would I stay again no.

Good hotel in a great location if you want to experience a lot in Berlin. 2 subway stations 5 minutes walk away. Yes, it is a little louder on the street side, but it was completely ok. Room clean. What def. missing is air conditioning. That would have been great when it was over 30 degrees in September. At least there was a fan in the room. The duvets are super thick and warm...not ideal at over 30 degrees😁.The bathroom...floor and toilet clean. The shower urgently needs improvement. Black in a lower corner...it's not much, butHowever, that shouldn't be the case.We didn't book breakfast because there are such great bakeries and cafés in the area...you should take advantage of that!It's also positive that you can only get into the elevators to the rooms with a room card!

Perfect spot for a trip to Berlin. I stayed at a single room and it was perfect for me. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was good. The breakfast was incredible good. But the older kitchenlady was very angry to the staff. Not okay, because they were so good. The location of the hotel was good. You can easily reach the U-bahn to the rest of Berlin. I will recommend this hotel.

Location is great, breakfast is first class! Really great. The rooms are no longer the newest, but they are clean. The bed was comfortable. Air conditioning would have been nice, but 3 giant windows and a fan were just as good for the temperatures. On a street in the middle of the city you have to expect background noise.

Sound isolation in my room was missing: I could hear talks in a corridor and everyone passing by with their luggage checking in or out. It's good they had a fan, so I could use it to suppress other sounds. No air conditioning. No slippers.

Whilst it could do with a refresh, the room was decent, clean (but the carpets could do with some work) and just round the corner from the Ubahn at Checkpoint Charlie so we'll sited for trips out. 20 minute walk from freidreichstrasse station and the main attractions. Quiet side street location. The stay was good.

We had a good time, the staff was courteous and the hotel was clean. The cleaning in the rooms was excellent, the staff tidied up and cleaned everything with extreme attention.Very comfortable bed.Negative notes: the room was small for two people, it had no air conditioning, the floor was carpeted, the shampoo was not good.Also quite convenient in terms of location, close to bars and supermarkets and about 2km from the main monuments, easily reachable by bicycle.Overall, we had a good time, good value for money.

Unfortunately, when we arrived at the hotel there were some problems with our reservation. We had already clarified a few things via email, which were then explained to us in a different way for the first time on site. We were also asked again to pay for the room, even though this was already done when we booked. But when everything was clarified, we were confirmed several times that our booking included breakfast for one person (which we actually didn't want to book), which is why we then added breakfast for the second person. When we left, we were asked (quite unfriendly) that we pay for the first person's breakfasts, as these were not included in the booking and the other colleague probably gave us incorrect information about this at check-in. The breakfast itself was delicious and had a large selection. The staff there was also very friendly. At the reception it seemed the opposite to me. The staff sat hidden behind a partition and seemed like they weren't too happy when someone came and wanted something. Unfortunately, the rooms weren't really worth the price either. It was a bit run down and there was black mold on the walls. The carpet was full of holes and the towels also had holes. But it seemed clean to me. What we found worst about the room was the lack of soundproofing. We were quite "secluded" from the other rooms and yet we could constantly hear people talking, hear the neighbors' bathroom and everything that was going on in the courtyard and at the bar (which was a lot). It was very loud until about 1 a.m. and from about 6 a.m. in the morning and despite the fact that we are used to noise at night, we had trouble sleeping.Edit: my booking couldn't be found because it was for my partner. The booking number was forwarded to the hotel.
