I had some time to fill this morning. I took advantage of the opportunity and visited the bakery with a stand-up café for the first time since the café was renovated, because the café doesn't open until eight o'clock. From the extensive selection of sandwiches I chose a corn stick with salami and a café crema - excellent! The saleswoman was very friendly. So we'll probably be visiting the café soon...__________________________________Update after 6 monthsIn the course of various errands, I wanted to have breakfast at Café Obergfell around 11 a.m. today and take a look at the café after its renovation.To get straight to the point - the café now seems to be fully geared towards hotel operations. The furnishings are no longer cozy, but rustic. When I asked for the breakfast menu - nothing there; There is only a breakfast buffet for €19.50 (€15 before the renovation). I think this price is quite excessive. I can go straight to the Parkcafé or the Britzer Mühle. In western German health resorts, an extensive, varied breakfast buffet with endless coffee or tea costs €7.50. So I went next door to the bakery to eat Mettbrötchen.I can't say anything about the hotel at all. I won't rate the café because it has lost that character. This is probably the breakfast room for the hotel now. On this occasion: My location rating refers to the bakery, not to the hotel. I'll still rate the bakery, although there is something to note here too.If sandwiches sit for several hours (the bakery opens at 7 a.m.), the rolls become wobbly. So does my Mettbrötchen. At least the Mett hadn't suffered yet.So I'll probably visit the C&O bakery (a little further away) soon...

Bread and rolls are good, but the service is really subpar. You have the feeling that you are annoying the employees with your own presence. It is also not possible to pay with money that is too large (€20 note) or with money that is too small (5 cent pieces), so you cannot buy anything if you do not have it as suitable as possible. “You’re not a bank,” you can then say, for example. listen.

The staff is absolutely impossible and unfriendly, I wasn't served because I was still on the phone while I was waiting. When it was my turn I of course hung up beforehand and was refused to buy anything, an older man who blatantly insulted me and came long after me was then served, the saleswoman reacted absolutely cheekily and said “yes, it's your own fault When they talk on the phone, I don’t have to serve them.” I've never experienced such impudence! Apart from the quality of the rolls, which are mostly dry and taste like the day before, I won't be going there again after this issue. I was happy to go there for a long time to buy cakes, but I'll also go somewhere else for that in the future!To the operators: perhaps offer training for cooperation in customer satisfaction and friendliness!

Disappointing experience at Bäcker ObergfallAs a long-time customer of Bäcker Obergfall, I was shocked by my recent experience on Mother's Day today. The wait was endless, and when it was finally my turn, I realized why: the rolls were handled with bare hands, without any hygiene measures. The staff was unfriendly and unhelpful, which made the visit even more frustrating. The goods, particularly the sandwiches, were presented without refrigeration, which made me very concerned. A disappointing experience that will make me prefer other bakeries in the future.

Unfortunately, it's fading more and more.My mother and I have been going there for years, but today I was very shocked to see a display with the following text: "For hygiene reasons, our toilet is closed. The city toilet is next door." That's not possible and I'm not sure whether it's legal. So today was the last time I was there, even though the strawberry cake is the best.Little by little, more and more areas are closed to guests. First the beer garden, then the interior and now the toilets. Keep it up, then everything can soon be completely closed.

Bought rolls there today. It doesn't happen too often, but every time I am amazed at how stoic someone can be so average. You read about the "love of craftsmanship", but it looks more like the annoying, necessary processing of the baking list. Example croissant: baked completely over-fermented, therefore no splintering, only air in it. Sticky. The pancakes also had to wait forever in the proofing cabinet until they could finally get some heat. The outcropping is almost no longer visible. That used to be a quality feature of the Berliner Schrippe. There is still plenty of room for improvement when it comes to service. Depending on the day, it's fairly friendly, but I've also experienced the "warm Berlin snout". I can do it, I'm from Berlin myself. But this+average quality is a bit too much to ask for, considering you have to shell out some money for it. I'll still come back, it's funny sometimes.

A typical bakery bakery (we don't bake fresh here, but rather prepare it from a chain and freeze it). It's not a big deal though, as many of the items still taste good.What is sometimes ridiculous, however, are the prices (half a sandwich for €4, for example).However, the mood and manner of the saleswomen is sometimes completely irresponsible.There are bad-tempered comments and even direct fronts. Items that you have listed but not packed will be counted, unless you remember that you also bought and paid for xyz.It also happened to me that I was simply charged €5 more than was legitimate, but I didn't realize this until much too late and was then unable to prove it when I was already at home.Bad-tempered comments and really bad-tempered facial expressions are the order of the day there, with some of the ladies more than others, but fundamentally always present.I paid with small change one day because I wanted to get rid of it, and I get really annoyed looks at me (because I paid with 1 and 2 euro pieces for a 16€ purchase) and I'm hit on the head in a really aggressive, accusatory tone I would have emptied a machine (even though I am a regular customer there). This was obviously not even meant as a joke, as the lady didn't even get a "Thank you and goodbye" after the transaction, but turned away really annoyed when I said "Thank you and have a pleasant Sunday " said.Baked goods are good;Service is pathetic;Prices range between very questionable and okay;

I've been a regular at Café Obergfell for some time now. At first I thought everyone had a bad day, but the older women behind the counter have now taught me otherwise. During the service process, private conversations are held between the staff and as a customer you feel like a supplicant. The cakes are not named and when asked there is a grumpy answer. Apparently the ladies aren't worried about their jobs given the current skills shortage, but the owner should be worried about customers staying away.

When I was looking for fresh pancakes on Sunday, I thought it would be a good idea to buy them from the traditional Obergfell bakery. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a complete failure.When you cut it open and took a bite, the crumbs flew within half a meter of your ears, these bread crumbs were so dry as dust. The weight, on average 57g, is also absolutely bad. Completely bloated without really having any volume. The whole thing for 40 cents each.People always say that you should support the old crafts, but when you get such goods, you'd rather go to the chain store or supermarket.Conclusion: Not here again!
