Stopped here for lunch on a spontaneous trip. We were warmly welcomed by the staff, the food was freshly prepared and tasted excellent - we were happy to accept the extra few minutes of waiting time.This small restaurant near the Elbe ferry Barby is recommended!

We stopped here on our bike tour along the Elbe.Nice outdoor area. Friendly service.However, the solyanka I ordered was very thin and extremely (!) sour, which leads to a downgrade.

This was the weirdest and most off-putting experience i ever had at a pension/hotel etc. When i arrived, I was looking around for the entrance/desk which turned out to be their cafe/restaurant, with a big standding sign blocking the doorway.When I entered there was someone sitting there so I asked (in German, this is relevant) "Hello, is this the main entrance?". Her only response was "yes, walk with my colleague" and beckoned her college who started walking away. No questions asked like 'do you have a reservation', 'are you checking in', etc.When we arrived at the room, the second woman gave me the key and walked away so I asked "do I need to show my ID or something?" at which she mumbled something unintelligible in response. Now my German isn't great so in English I asked "I'm sorry, would you mind switching to English", at which she snarled back with a pretty aggressive tone (in German) "I can't understand you" while turning het back on me.The next morning (luckily my stay was only for one night), when I left the room, that same woman was standing there as she was about to clean the rooms and she just practically shouted "SCHLÖSSEL HIER BITTE" (meaning 'keys here please') so i just gave her the key without saying anything, giving her an evil eye.As for the accommodation itself, it's not great either. The blinds of the window barely blocked any light, and right outside my room was a light which kept turning in and off repeatedly a few times a minute. The building was very noisy. The room had two separate beds that couldn't be placed next to each other, even though i booked a room with a double bed. Not a big deal for me as I was alone, but still.In short, terrible place that doesn't deserve any business. Stay away from this place.

I would have liked to have a second drink and a piece of cake, but the racist, populist conversations of the people sitting next to me stopped me, so I left immediately after a very short stay.A pity.

We chose the house at the end of the bike tour along the Saale cycle path and booked it by phone, including a table reservation for dinner.When we arrived in the evening the rooms were already taken. No apologies, no assistance in finding other accommodation, in the middle of nowhere.The boss may cook well, but there is a lot of room for improvement when it comes to hospitality.

On my Men's Day trip by bike I ended up here spontaneously at lunchtime, which is why I can only give the "usual" rating to a limited extent. What I can judge, however, is the wonderfully secluded and therefore relaxed location (when it's not Men's Day) as well as the friendly, family atmosphere with which you are welcomed here. I'll definitely come back here when it's not peak day for cyclists. 😁

Despite booking in advance, we didn't get a table in the dining room and had to put together seats in the garden ourselves and temporarily prepare and wipe down the tables in order to even be able to eat there. Despite the lack of staff, something like this is unlikely to happen. The organization left a lot to be desired, unfortunately. The food was very tasty and plentiful. The service tried very hard because they were the only ones responsible, but they were overwhelmed.

Had ordered a buffet, price performance was more than satisfactory. It was really tasty and, above all, plentiful. Always happy :)
