Overall we were very satisfied with our stay. The room is small but very comfortable and was enough for us. We liked that it was possible to use Netflix and Prime on the TV if you have your own account. Unfortunately, the kitchenette doesn't have an oven, which we would have been happy about, but we liked the fact that you had the opportunity to cook yourself. The kitchen is equipped with the most necessary dishes. Coffee, tea, salt, pepper, oil and vinegar were available.Unfortunately, there is a point deduction for the fact that the shower drain does not drain properly and we flooded the bathroom. The problem should be fixed. Otherwise it was very nice and we would book a room there again.

Location was very good! The apartment was extremely noisy during the day and night…resting was very difficult with all that noise. Shower was clogged making it impossible to have a good shower. Tried contacting the operator with no luck. Not a place I would stay at again or recommend.

Nice spacious room with a kitchenette and spacious bathroom. Easy check-in, good support via email and SMS. The hotel is very central. Small drawbacks: relatively warm in the room and not completely quiet at night with the windows open due to the central location...

I recently stayed at the limehome in Essen (Kettwiger Straße) and overall I was very dissatisfied with my stay. Here are the main problems I experienced:1. Noise: The room (101) was on the 1st floor facing the street, right on the busy shopping street. It was extremely loud until the early hours of the morning as there was a lot of shouting in the street. Even with the windows closed it was almost unbearable because of the heat. It's a disgrace that the landlord actually asked for a photo of the source of the noise, even though the building is in the city center and the noise from the street and the bar opposite is obvious (extra sheet). The city cleaning is also active before midnight, which you can experience live. To all travelers: It's best to do a live stream so that the time is also documented!2. Air conditioning: There is no air conditioning and with the windows closed the heat was unbearable. A fan is simply not enough. A disgrace because the windows are large and there are no blinds or anything similar to reduce the amount of sunlight. A curtain is not enough.3. Security: The doors have no lock on the inside and the intermediate door to the floor sometimes doesn't close properly. As a woman traveling alone, this made me feel very unsafe. There is also a gap below the door; enough space to open the door with assistance.4. Hygiene: The table in the room was sticky, which was very unpleasant.5. Kitchen appliances: A kitchen appliance (probably the refrigerator) kept making loud, annoying noises.6. WiFi: The WiFi was anything but high speed and didn't even connect to my laptop. Not possible to work, only via your own hotspot.Customer service responded quickly to my complaint and offered a partial refund of just 25%, but that doesn't alleviate the many inconveniences (the sources of the noise were probably incomprehensible - as a customer you feel like you've been taken for a ride!!!). For €256 (2 nights) I had a sleepless night and a lot of trouble. I ended my stay early and moved to Motel One, where it was much more pleasant, cooler and, above all, quieter.Overall, I am very disappointed and will definitely not recommend this limehome.

The room is extremely noisy.When you shower, the water from the walk-in shower runs into the bathroom. No sun protection outside, so very hot in summer.Also, the internet doesn't work.

Actually well equipped. Unfortunately, there are very bright lights in front of the house that are on all night and the curtains cannot be closed completely. As a result, we slept very poorly because it was too light

The price is the same as a normal hotel but what you can get is a very modern and spacious room. It's fairly close to the city centre, but I didn't hear any noise even though I opened the window all night. I will definitely come back on my next visit to Essen.

Great value for money, very uncomplicated contactless check in via pin. With the outside temperature at just 23 degrees, the room was unbearably warm, but there is a fan. You can't leave the window open because it's too loud. Even with the windows closed, you won't be able to get any peace at night on weekends without hearing protection. For business trips Mon.-Fri. optimal. You can prepare meals in the fully equipped kitchen and the shower has a reasonable temperature and water pressure. You can hear the neighbors coughing in the next room...

A clean, stylishly furnished, sparkling room in the center of Essen. It has a kitchen. Kitchen supplies are complete, coffee machine, kettle, plates, spoons, glasses, full, tea, coffee, cream, sugar, olive oil, sour sauce, napkins, towels, shampoo, all. It was available. There were fans for hot days. There was a microwave and a refrigerator. It is a place for families to stay with peace of mind. KSPIlar is safe and secure.

The room is nice and well located. However, I noticed that the towels were missing. After several calls to the service hotline (long waiting time), the employees were unable to offer me a solution. The cleaning staff was no longer on site and would not be in the building until 10 a.m. the next morning. As a business traveler, you have already checked out by this time. This is completely impossible without a shower in hot temperatures. Service: zero stars!

Great location in the middle of the city. Clean rooms, very good hair shampoo and shower lotion from Hej. The Nespresso machine is also nice, equipped with 4 capsules as well as sugar and milk. Good service! Checking in is a bit complicated, purely digital. But everything worked out well. Good value for money for the central location right in the middle. Directly opposite Café Extrablatt and the Lichtburg with a very good selection of films.

In the middle of the city, we were there for the Christmas market. Please note: no reception, everything can be checked in digitally. Had to call once, because we couldn't figure it out how to get in, but we were helped well in English. Room was clean, good bed and shower. Only had to bring our own camping bed. Next time we would like to stay longer than 1 night. Parking is further away, you have to carry stuff, but that's in the middle of the city... 24 hour parking is 11 euros.

Very spacious with a small kitchenette and large bathroom. Very clean.The only thing that marred the stay was the noise from the surrounding restaurants, which you can hear very clearly on the first floor despite the windows being closed. The rooms facing the courtyard are very quiet.

It was neat and modern and the towels and kitchen were fine.Unfortunately the room was far too hot to sleep and there was no air conditioning. It was max. 25°C outside that day, so that's not too bad. Opening the windows didn't make it any better and you can hear all the street sounds.Furthermore, the bed was extremely hard, it gave us back pain. In the end I didn't sleep at all due to the combination of the hard mattress and heat.The rain shower in our room was also missing, there was just a hole there. While the photos showed a rain shower everywhere and it was not indicated in advance that it was missing. When I communicated this to Limehome, I never received a response again. Very bad service!

Let's start with the positives: the location is very good, close to the central station. The rooms are well equipped, the shower is pretty good and there's a massive television if for some reason you need that kind of thing. Working the entry system isn't super obvious but once you realise you need to put the code into the door handle and not the door panel you're good to go.However, I have some real issues with the place. First of all, it's hot. Like... even with all the windows open at night it just retains the heat of the day so well it makes it impossible to sleep. Might not be so bad in winter but even on a relatively normal 25 degrees day, it was absolutely impossible to get the heat out. Unfortunately, because you have to leave the windows open to get any chance of sleeping, you're then subjected to the outside sounds. There are two separate sets of bells that ring the time every 15 minutes. Another reason sleep won't come easy are what have to be the most uncomfortable pillows in the whole world. I appreciate some people like soft pillows, but surely they should offer at least *some* support for the head. In the end I opted to sleep on a wet towel to solve both the heat and pillow issues.On a different note, considering how well equipped the place is (dishwasher, really??) one glaring omission is that there's no iron or ironing board. Seeing as this kind of place is likely to be used by people on business trips, that's pretty bad. I ended up having to buy new shirts since there was no way to iron mine.In conclusion, yeah, I can see what they're going for and it's alright, I guess. But if this was a hotel all of the issues could have been resolved with a call to reception. Since it isn't, it's quite frustrating because you're stuck with it. Personally I won't be coming back but I suppose other people might actually enjoy staying there.
