In the middle of Brüggen, a fine ambience and unexpectedly good and courteous service. The restaurant, on the other hand, should have a more down-to-earth and richer offering on the menu.

Very courteous staff, very clean rooms. Price performance is right. Food in the restaurant was edible due to the relatively modest selection, but there is better in Brüggen. But the hotel would be happy again.

This was our second time in this hotel and we will happily come back. The hotel has a great location, is modern, clean, nice rooms and the service staff are very friendly and accommodating.We didn't notice anything about the change in ownership except for the restaurant, which was still closed when we were there (July). Breakfast is very good and plentiful, the kitchen makes egg dishes upon request.

After a change of operator in June 2024, which heralded a new start for the Brüggen hotel in the Westring, which opened in 2021, there is now a brand partnership with the international hotel group BWH Hotels. Since August the hotel has been called the Best Western Plus Hotel Brüggen. The four-star superior hotel, which will continue to be managed individually and independently by the new operating company, has been integrated into the international hotel group's sales and marketing strategy since August.

After the certainly justified bad reviews from June, we had positive experiences again in mid-July 2024. Apparently the problems of the change of ownership have been overcome. Only the restaurant will not open again until around mid-August. But the room, service and breakfast were impeccable and to our satisfaction. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The bar is temporarily served from the reception. But that too is about to change again. We would come back straight away.

Nice hotel, decent room, well maintained.. Service atrocious.. Breakfast doesn’t fit 4 star rating.. Don’t pay for breakfast if not paid upfront.. Person behind bar outright said she doesnt know how to make coffee and she was rgt.. Fun is I still have to pay full amount 😂.. Asked for some tomatoes and cucumber in breakfast and answer was i can take from 3 slices layed for decoration.. This is damm horrible food experience of 4 star rated hotel. By the way, kitchen was closed so could not eat dinner 😅

1. At 1AM I suddenly had an uninvited guest in my room. When I screamed they ran away. No phone in the room to call reception so I had to go downstairs to be told 'someone went to check if the room was clean'. At 1AM? And then they run away? Sure ...didn't dare to leave my valuables in the room for the next day.2. No breakfast. Said there would be on the second day. Again, no breakfast.3. No snacks on offer so you have something to eat. And no food delivery available either.How this place has 4* is a mystery. I wonder when the last certification was. I hear it was sold four months ago. Probably before that.Worst 4* experience I have ever had. Never again.

WARNING stay away from this hotel! The hotel is closed. Any previous bookings will not be accepted, if you have paid for the hotel prior to arrival it will not be valid for your stay. I was informed that the previous owner took the infrastructure for the hotel, so there are no key cards , no phone, no Internet, no website, no breakfast, no bar.As the booking portals can't reach the hotel then refunds are being delayed or refused.

Unfortunately I have to change my mind... and I can only advise everyone to stay away from this hotel!!!Old statement:It's my regular hotel at least once a month and always feels a bit like coming home. Super friendly staff and always a hospitable and service-oriented atmosphere.Top cleanliness and rooms that make you feel comfortable.New opinion:During recent visits, the rooms were often unclean or there were no towels. Breakfast and bar haven't been available for months. All things that can somehow still be overlooked, but today I experienced the peak...As always, my room was booked through the company headquarters, but apparently the booking couldn't be found and they wanted to offer me a room by paying in cash. I felt rather sorry for the receptionist and gave the impression that he was under pressure. When I wanted to speak to the boss, who I saw two minutes ago in the parking lot, I was told he was sick. As already described in other reviews, everything in this hotel has recently seemed very dubious!I will make sure that no more bookings or company celebrations will take place here from our company...A PITY! ...was really nice

I can only agree with Marion Müller’s review. (please read carefully) When we refused to pay in cash without an invoice... I presented my ID card and insisted on an invoice and bank transfer via email, we were loudly and threateningly asked by a shady gentleman at the reception , IMMEDIATELY go to the ATM around the corner and collect cash.Intimidated, we withdrew cash because the two musclemen who then positioned themselves menacingly in front of the entrance were a bit too much for us.NEVER EVER this hotel again...I know such behavior from TV but the fact that it is like that in reality....scary.Actually a case for the State Criminal Police Office (money laundering)

Booked through Check24 and was told at reception that the booking couldn't be found. A real-time transfer was requested and a new reservation was made. There was no breakfast with the reason “no concession due to change of ownership”. We were given the map and given no information about where our room was.The next day another colleague was sitting at reception. Even more haphazard. After enquiry, we did not receive an invoice.Our standards really aren't high, but that was a complete disaster.

After the change of ownership, the situation in this hotel is currently unstable. The rooms are still quite nice, unfortunately there seems to be a lack of cleaning staff, so the room remained unmade from the second day onwards. At the reception, the staff seemed unprofessional and were unable to offer basic services due to system failures. This culminated in the fact that card payments were no longer possible on departure, nor were the staff able to send an invoice, even though they were under time pressure on the way to the job, was held up until you either arranged for a cash payment or made a real-time transfer under the critical eye of a shady and more than unfriendly employee. There is no breakfast in the hotel since the change of ownership, nor is there a bar. I have never had to experience such subterranean business behavior as on the day of departure from this hotel.This was definitely the last stay at The Bridge.

When I entered the hotel, I was greeted by two men, one wearing a baseball cap and the other wearing a jacket. I thought it was an elevator repair company, because in a four-star hotel the staff usually wear uniforms. There were no channels on TV, there was only internet TV, there was no hair dryer, no shoe horn, but this is such a small detail... Breakfast lasted until 11:00, but at 9:00 the buffet was practically empty. In addition, guests had to wait a long time for their tables because they were not cleaned regularly. Some people got impatient with the long wait and decided to just drink coffee. This didn't work, there were thermoses but no cups (the coffee machine was turned off). For two days we heard that you can't pay for the rooms by card, only cash. It's puzzling... Why can't you pay by card in a 4-star hotel in Europe in the 21st century? To sum up: the building is modern, but here there was only a 4-star price and one-star service.
