We discovered the Hotel zum Schwan in Weilerswist by chance on the way to Cologne and stopped there for dinner. The restaurant is located in the historic wine cellar and is lovingly and unusually furnished. You can discover nostalgic utensils and decorations everywhere. The food tasted delicious, but the portions weren't too big. My complaint is that there was bacon in the turkey schnitzel without the bacon being on the menu. That doesn't work! There are many people who don't eat pork, they can fall into a trap here. Because of the weather we sat inside where it is cozy and comfortable. But it looks like there is also outdoor seating in the summer.

We booked the hotel because it was about 10 minutes away from Phantasialand. The man at the reception was very nice. The room is a nice size and the bathroom is sufficient, everything was super clean.The location towards the hotel parking lot was also great, I thought the view in the evening was very nice. There are shops 2-3 minutes away by car, as well as 2 gas stations.Unfortunately, there are also one or two negative points.Unfortunately, the WiFi didn't work at all and when it did work, nothing loaded, even sending simple pictures wasn't possible.The television worked, but was probably a bit older and the quality of the picture wasn't really the best. - But it wasn't so bad for us.Unfortunately, the roller shutter didn't work either and so we couldn't sleep in.I also found stains on my pillow the last day. (No, they can't come from me because I've never slept on that side of the pillow.)The middle screws are sticking out of the skirting board between the bedroom and the hallway, which is dangerous in my opinion.All in all it was a nice stay.

The hotel is centrally located. Everything is within walking distance (Edeka, bakery, pharmacy, train station, etc.).Phantasialand can be reached every hour by bus.The room size is appropriate. The bathroom was large. Unfortunately noisy and very loud towards the street. In summer temperatures the room gets very hot, so a fan in the room would have been nice. There was probably a smoke detector at one time.The older television heats up extremely quickly.Not all sockets work.The furnishings are rather quaint, beds are not very comfortable.The difference in height between the mattress and the edge of the bed is not very comfortable when getting up and is certainly not easy for older people.It is very dusty, the bed hasn't been cleaned for a long time, there are several cobwebs in the room, the shower head is calcified.Our blankets were all stained. They were exchanged for new ones, but that should have been noticeable when moving in. Something like that belongs in the trash!The staff was friendly, we always ate out, so we can't rate the food in the hotel.There were new towels every day.It's enough to stay overnight, I wouldn't spend an entire vacation there. Cleanliness urgently needs to be worked on so that the price is justified.

The only positive thing about this hotel is the friendly staff.Points deducted for cleanliness: there were stains on our duvets, and there were still hairs from our predecessor on the tiles and in the shower. The curtain in the bathroom was halfway down. The wallpaper was peeling and there was a hole in the wallpaper.Our room was on the main street, so quiet nights were out of the question as people drove their sports cars through the street at full speed at night.The rooms are extremely noisy, you can hear every word from the neighboring room. Unfortunately our bed was very sagging and you could feel every spring.Plus point for the location: everything you need is within walking distance. Bakers, pizzerias and an Edeka are nearby.We're really not picky people, but unfortunately it was the first and last time we slept in this hotel.

Don't even bother coming, the room is older than me and without air conditioning, breakfast for 12.90 and it is chope, a warmed egg, coffee and bottled juice, for that price I can rent breakfast outside, on top of that at the same price as a ibis hotel when the idea was to get something cheaper. If it had been a little cheaper it would have been worth it.

We were there today for the first time and also for the last time. Staff had to be found first, and they were quick to talk to. Drinks were served incorrectly. We are speechless when it comes to the food. Requests for food were not even addressed. Food was only lukewarm. Long waiting time.

I was warmly welcomed, the staff is super friendly and accommodating. Breakfast and dinner were sufficient in quantity and very tasty. My room was in the annex building for 2 nights and had everything you needed. Cleaning is done there daily. Conclusion for me, I would like to go there again

The rooms were simple and clean. The bathroom was a bit on the small side. What was strange was that the room was a few houses away from the reception. In front of the room was the main road through the village. Breakfast was okay, the service was good and the employees were very friendly.
