I booked a room for an event. Despite checking in in the afternoon, my guest was unable to move into his room later because the key card did not match the room. So we had to make phone calls in the middle of the night and wait half an hour for someone to come to the hotel to open the room. Once and never again!

My wife surprised me with the “Romantic Declaration of Love” arrangement. I just got the data for the navigation system and off we went. When we arrived at the hotel, the computer had just crashed. The friendly staff covered up the crash to show us and explain the entire ground floor. There is a lot to see and admire there. At the same time he explained to us what the evening would be like, showed us the restaurant, the bar, the breakfast room and much more. He then accompanied us to the room, second floor, without elevator, and he carried our light luggage. We were lucky to get the room at the end of the hallway. This has a large bathroom, large bathtub, large shower, a small flat screen TV, which we were happy to use. The bed was lovingly decorated, a fruit bowl, everything fresh, was at the start and the ingenious “Pimp your sparkling wine” cart.On the evening with the 3-course menu, we were asked beforehand whether we had any intolerances, whether we would prefer meat-free, etc. That same evening there was an Italian baptism in the next room, the large breakfast room with a gallery 😊Accordingly, there was a lot of hustle and bustle, music, children, people gesticulating wildly in the hallways and in front of the hotel. It was really Ramba Zamba in the hut and we felt very comfortable. Unfortunately, the hotel is also affected by a shortage of skilled workers, which we were told at the beginning because it could take a while between courses. No problem for us as this is part of the enjoyment. We are smokers and had a smoke in front of the hotel between the starter and the main course, which we reported. The staff was really kind enough to pick us up outside because it was quicker than expected and it would be a shame if the food got cold.As an “apology” for the delays and the noise, we received the drinks we ordered on the house, lemonades and beer, which we had already ordered before and afterward. Other arrangement bookers had probably complained or made their displeasure known. Absolutely incomprehensible to us. The operating couple was present the whole evening, always tried to please all guests and the few staff were also great. Always friendly and accommodating but full of stress. The next day we were served a hearty breakfast in bed; you can tell that they “worked through” the night. If something was missing or forgotten, a quick call and it was corrected. Always walk up two flights of stairs with a smile on your face.We enjoyed the morning in peace and quiet and then visited Leonardo Da Vinci in the Visiodrom of the Gaskessel. Then back to the hotel to have another coffee and have a chat with the operator, Ms. Kristina Nicoli.A little anecdote on the side: My wife is a sweets lover. At the entrance there was a large bowl with individually wrapped muffins of different types. After she had eaten one, the staff asked her when we left if she could take one or two more because they tasted simply wonderful. The gentleman immediately had a huge smile on his face and was happy about it, as he would bake the muffins himself and my wife would be happy to take some to eat on the journey. All in all a perfect weekend. Great couple who run the hotel. Were always on site and approachable, i.e. at eye level. Great staff, despite stress, hectic pace, deadline pressure, always there for you and always friendly and helpful. It should be mentioned that the building used to be a Vorwerk factory. What has become of it is very good and explains the enormous ceiling height in the rooms. Don't want to see the heating bill.If you are planning a short visit to Wuppertal, you should add this hotel to your favorites. Run with love, it exudes a lot of charm and with its friendly staff and owner couple, it quickly makes up for any gripes.

First of all: The location of the hotel is really special. The view of the surrounding area is impressive, especially for northern Germans, and the interior of the house also makes a great impression at first glance. Unfortunately, it only remains a first impression. Our double room was only equipped with a 1.40 m wide bed - quite narrow for two people. The lack of cleanliness in the bathroom was even more problematic: a shampoo holder fell towards us, the room fragrance dispenser was dried out and the previous guest's beard stubble could still be found. The condition of the shower also left a lot to be desired - the rubber lip on the shower doors was very dirty and there was mold. The highlight of the whole thing, however, was a used panty liner in the bathroom trash can, which was still there after the “cleaning” the next day. This suggests that there is either no cleaning at all or only superficial cleaning. In addition, a cable was dangling awkwardly from under the television, and a picture hanging at an angle underneath reinforced the impression that the hotel was not being run with the necessary care. The room cards also caused irritation: they were simple, worn plastic cards that made a dirty impression. There was also a note that if lost, a penalty of €15 would be charged - for a card that costs a maximum of a few cents.Shortly before we left we unfortunately discovered that the edges of the duvet inside the duvet cover were very dirty - really the proverbial cherry on the cake and absolutely unacceptable. All in all, our stay was very disappointing – even with a reasonable price. A hotel that adorns itself with four stars should offer at least a minimum level of cleanliness and hygiene. Not to mention the many other small but annoying details.Since we stay in different hotels all over Germany every week for work reasons, this house is definitely one of the few that we will not visit a second time. We hope that our stay was an exception, because expectations were actually high based on the pictures and the location. One question remains: Where do the 4 stars come from?

We stayed at the Hotel Amical for one night with breakfast via Kurzurlaub.de. A very nice hotel, something different than the standard hotels. Rooms large and clean with nice bathroom with shower and even bathtub. Everything was clean, very modern in the rooms and in the hotel. The breakfast was perfect. The very cozy breakfast room is great. Not a big, noisy room like many hotels. We were thrilled. In 7 minutes you can walk to the suspension railway station or the train station and can easily travel into the city (the main station in the city center is the stop). We'd love to come back.

A beautiful hotel. Our room was unique. Muffins, red wine, fresh fruit, chocolates and free mineral water in the room. The service was super good. Simply nice and accommodating. We will definitely come back again. Everything was great all around.

Not really recommended, first room, dirty, TV without sound. Second room see pictures, TV flickers constantly and dark picture. Manager told us he doesn't have any people. Breakfast was ok, except that you had to tell the employees that they had to or should refill with new food. In short, we stayed better for less money.
