The Hotel Monte Christo impresses with its charming mix of historical flair and modern comfort. The central location near the old town makes it an ideal starting point for sightseeing. The rooms are stylish and individually furnished, creating a cozy atmosphere. Particularly noteworthy is the friendly and courteous service of the staff, who always strive to ensure that guests have a pleasant stay. Gladly again.

Charged 2 Euro to use the bathroom during Pride ( instead of 5€ like it said on a sign at the door). Toilets were absolutely awful. No tissue, wee everywhere, water on the floor etc. ! If you charge people to use your bathroom, which I do understand, then make sure it's not at ridiculous prices, as its a human right, and also that it's actually possible to use them!

This was the only hotel that still had a room within city centre of Cologne and the reviews online were mixed. We went for it anyway and were pleasantly surprised. The room was much larger than I thought it would be. We only spent maybe 10 hours in the hotel in total so we didn't care about the size of the TV etc. The bed was comfortable, even though it was 32ºC outside during the day and 25ºC at night, it was cool enough to sleep (room does not have AC). The check-in and check-out was also very nice and swift. The man at reception was very helpful and kind.The hotel's location is excellent.

Absolutely top location, near the cathedral and the shopping promenade. But the room was very very small and the equipment reactively poor and simple. No own parking. Despite the location, it was too expensive for such room and equipment.

Very relaxed and friendly hotel management, great location. Our room was neat and clean. The only drawback is that the noise is a bit annoying due to people partying late into the night with the window open. Everything works for us.

Nice welcome, very good value for money and an excellent location. I also think the themed rooms are a success. There is still some room for improvement in terms of cleanliness. Still highly recommended.

It is a budget hotel. No elevator, but thankfully our room was on the first floor. Check-in was very quick and the staff was friendly. The room is quite small and there was no AC. The bathroom is way too small and the shower area is even tinier with not so much place to move your hands. It is in the heart of Cologne City, so it was very easy to get to any places by walk from this hotel.

After a few years, we used this small hotel in the center of Cologne for the second time this weekend (09.2023) and found this accommodation to be largely okay and functional with not too high standards. As advertised by the hotel, each room is decorated to some degree in an individual style, although we didn't find this to be particularly outstanding or impressive. What we noticed was that the rooms were already very worn out, the very spartan furnishings were extremely functional, and our small bathroom was no longer in the best condition. Apart from a decent bed, little comfort is offered; for example, there is no elevator or air conditioning in the hotel, and the rooms have neither a refrigerator nor a safe. The cleanliness in the room was still acceptable, but you weren't allowed to take a closer look in the bathroom. However, we were very friendly with the hotelier who welcomed us and said goodbye. The big advantage of the hotel is its central location not far from the Heumarkt, so that all important attractions can be easily reached on foot. In our opinion, this alone does not justify the hotel's generally higher price. So it currently seems questionable to us whether we will book this hotel again.

Good location …but the clerk at the front desk remarked that we arrived at 830 instead of 8:00 while we had an email notification that the flight was late arriving …during the conversation he was making fun of me …and …

The room was clean, the hotel is in an excellent position for visiting the Duomo area on foot. It is located near the main shopping street but the room was still quiet.

Reception could’ve been better but nothing bad to say about it.||Room was nice! Bathroom a bit small and needed some renovation but everything was working very well. Bed quite comfortable :) Also located right next to the center so it’s easy.
