The location is nice. It can be reached after 2 stops from Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof and the rooms were not bad. But since it is close to the train station, there is a little noise.

An incredibly nice lady at reception – very friendly and accommodating. I don't understand the negative reviews about the rooms because they offer everything you need. After all, they are only intended for sleeping and not for the entire stay. I can therefore only recommend the hotel!

Disaster. We were informed at check-in that smoking was prohibited in the rooms. There are signs everywhere. The room smelled unbelievably of old cigarette smoke and drains. The bathroom is probably 30 years old and in appropriate condition. You hear everything. Both in the house and from the street. The stairwell stinks and is incredibly dirty. Of course the room wasn't cleaned either. However 3.5 stars come together... the money for purchased reviews might be better invested in renovations...

There is a lot of lack of cleaning, and there is no elevator. Being next to a train stop it is super noisy, there are many tracks. If you are a delicate sleeper, it's not your place either.

Unfortunately an absolute disaster...I have never ended a hotel visit early, let alone left the accommodation after 4 hours.Of course, you can't expect much for just under €150 for two adults. However, I am of the opinion that cleanliness and customer service should be the be-all and end-all, regardless of the price range.We arrived around 3 p.m., briefly put our things down and returned in the evening. We noticed the pungent smell in the stairwell, but we thought it would dissipate over the course of the day.When we came back in the evening and went to bed, I pulled back the blanket and found hair on the cover. It would be okay to find a hair, but the amount we found here was just disgusting. We made a makeshift attempt to pick up the hair when we noticed the rubbish under the bed. I decided to go to the reception to ask if they could give us a clean room, unfortunately it was no longer occupied & so I called the emergency number, but in vain. This is an absolute disgrace. If I provide an emergency number, you should also be able to reach someone, otherwise something could happen.So I went back to the room, but unfortunately it was absolutely not possible for me to stay in the room because I found cut fingernails in the bathroom and the noise from the other guests in the hallway continued even after 10 p.m.So I booked us new accommodation and our stay at the Berolina House was over after just 4 hours. I tried to reach someone all evening, but no one answered the phone the next day and the receptionist told us we had to call and write an email.I've done both, if we ever get a response I'll adjust the rating. However, the reviews from other guests indicate that no one will come forward and you will be stuck with the money...I can only advise against booking something here, the only positive thing is the location.

Great staff, friendly, would recommend at any time.The rooms are very clean.I can't say anything negative. We were there for two days and nights and were treated lovingly. It is central and parking is free nearby. We booked 87 euros via booking and the price ratio was great

Staff very helpful in satisfying our requests (we were traveling by bike: bike parking, quiet room and on the ground floor so as not to carry bags up the stairs - there is no lift). The room could have been cleaner, however it was tidy. Quiet neighborhood, supermarket and cafes. Nice restaurants across the bridge.

Well, what can I expect at a price of 40 euros a night. There was no response to my email regarding a late check-in, but it was very straightforward over the phone. The hotel is right next to an S-Bahn station. Of course it's easy to reach but relatively loud. Ear plugs are certainly an advantage here. The room was minimalist but functionally furnished. I couldn't complain about the cleanliness, except for the moldy silicone in the bathroom, which the previous speakers also complained about. But the smell in the room was bad, musty old heavy cigarette smoke everywhere, even in the bathroom, the smoke detector had already been taken off as a precaution, apparently this is a common problem, as it is reported in several reviews. I'm really tough when it comes to hotel rooms, but this was a bit too much and I wouldn't book it again. Without this smell it would certainly be a good and cheap place to stay overnight.

It's a DISGUSTING place.Very dirty room, with remains of other people's hair and blood.Moldy bathroom.The bed was limping and we had to wedge it with some cardboard.We told the reception staff about it and they said there was nothing they could do.It is very far away and poorly connected to the downtown area.The only good thing is that it is 3 S-Bahn stops from the airport.
