The location is very individual. It's just a few minutes' walk to any shopping area. There are two malls that are easy to reach. However, since it is a hotspot for restaurants, it is sometimes noisy outside until midnight. The breakfast is delicious and offers a good selection. For vegans the offer is rather poor; Arrangements must be made with the hotel. The room is really very small and didn't match the pictures we saw online when booking. It was limited to a bed with a television and a small wardrobe. There weren't any more square meters either. The staff was lovely and helpful.Public transport is also easy and quick to reach.

The price-performance ratio is right. For 72 euros I had a very small, clean and reasonably quiet room as well as a decent breakfast. The air doesn't flow well in the shower. Whether you see the location in the middle of Essen's pedestrian zone as an advantage or a disadvantage is up to you.

Miniature rooms, even without a wardrobe, desk or chair. The location is good, but that's probably the only plus.

The rooms are equipped with the most important things, but the space itself is very narrow, for example to open the window you have to crawl over the bed. The city center in Essen is not a place where you feel comfortable after dark. The hotel staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, they always seem to be in a good mood and care about the well-being of their guests, as soon as you walk through the door of the hotel you feel welcome. The breakfast selection is plentiful and varied, but I didn't leave any Wishes open.

Stayed at this hotel again this weekend. Hotel room was ok so far, but needs modernization. No elevator in the neighboring building, no card key system. Especially if you return to the hotel in the dark and live in the house next door, you have to ring the bell and show the hotel key to the intercom camera as proof that you are a hotel guest. It could be quicker with a card key system and save the hotel guest the current procedure. Especially since there are not exactly trustworthy people hanging around outside the hotel in the evening/night.I hope that the breakfast lady, Ms. Lazar, still works for this hotel. Unfortunately she wasn't there this weekend. She was friendlier and asked, for example, whether you would like fried eggs. The breakfast was simply better, more varied and richer under her supervision. For example, Ms. Lazar would not have had napkins that were not refilled, plates missing, or even empty cereal dispensers. That's why I hope she's still employed by you.

Service is ok. But that was it. Room extremely small and we got an uncleaned room. Use blankets, hair everywhere and towels that are on the floor. Upon request we were given a clean room, which was reasonably clean but nothing more. Extremely small, hardly any space and stains everywhere on the walls. Plus leaky windows that feel like they're about to fall out. Walls made of cardboard, you can practically hear everything from the next room.

Got an updated room, nicely renovated bathroom, but with some cosmetic flaws, tip, towel hangers and maybe a tablet above the heating and something in the room to put your suitcase on

The hotel is a bit older, that's not a problem. But the rooms are far too small; even a prison cell would probably be larger. You can only reach the window by crawling over the bed. Even the person who sleeps on the window side has to crawl over the bed/roommate. Because there is only about 10 cm of space between the bed and the wall and that's where the television hangs. Normal and especially overweight people have no chance in the rooms. The elevator is also extremely small. We found the bathroom very ok. Disadvantage: The windows can only be tilted, so there is always stuffy air in the small room; That's a huge minus point. About the location: In the pedestrian zone in Essen - so you feel like you're in Istanbul; Only southerners/Arabs live and stay there; you have to like it or endure it. That's probably why it was one of the cheapest hotels in the city. Breakfast and service not tested, so nothing can be said about it. Room cleaner very nice.
