We were there for a funeral coffee and the service was very friendly

The menu changes seasonally and it is always delicious and quite unusual, for example fish with sauerkraut (yummy)😀

Unfortunately, we cannot endorse the feeling that others describe here, of feeling welcome from the moment you enter. ... which started immediately upon arrival; was a negative comment about the fact that we had an accent in our German and therefore it was clear that we were not Germans, when asked where I could park something unclear was babbled .... in other words ... Search for it out, .... the lack of parking is a very big disadvantage of this hotelAfter we had something to eat in the center and came back to the hotel, we planned to have something to drink in the hotel... Well, that was beyond our budget! Even though we were guests of the hotel, it was not the intention to occupy a table in the hotel/restaurant... there was no room for usFortunately, the center is within walking distance, where there are restaurants,(ice cream) cafes and supermarkets.the rooms are dated, simply furnished, but clean, which is a disadvantage that you can smell the kitchen throughout the hotel, because the kitchen is not closed off from the guest rooms, but all doors are open.this was our experience after a tiring journey on the day of arrival, we are very curious about tomorrow..... we are not really looking forward to it...Update ...The day that followed was indeed no party.During the rather mediocre breakfast, the landlady felt it necessary to express her dissatisfaction about the review, in front of several other guests it was made clear to us that it was not the intention to criticize anything about it. the hotel, the staff, the food or anything related to the Salzerhof company, even the innkeeper (cook) came out of the kitchen to participate in the conversation through a form of intimidation. After I clearly indicated that I was not happy with these practices and we had important appointments, we left for our appointments.A few hours later we returned and another discussion ensued, during which it was once again made clear through forms of intimidation that we were no longer welcome.Even though we paid the full amount for the total duration of our stay, we packed our things and left the hotel early to continue our stay (we still had appointments with clients) in another hotel.We have never experienced such disrespect for guests in a hotel, here everything revolves around raking in as much money as possible, if you have paid in advance, then all forms of service and customer (guest) friendliness are a thing of the past. Tables are only intended for people who use the restaurant, just having a drink is not desirable, these are absolutely not catering people and cannot handle the work.All in all a very disappointing experience that cost a lot of money.The (family) hotel within walking distance where we continued our stay, fortunately has made up for a lot, hospitable people, very clean and tidy rooms, excellent breakfast and a service that belongs to a hotel "here the owners of Hotel Salzerhof can give an example ", which will probably be a cry in the desert, because the innkeepers of Hotel Salzerhof are not open to feedback and absolutely cannot tolerate criticism.

The start was rough, we booked last minute and according to booking it was pet friendly. However, we did bring our dog but did not register it. (We came back from vacation). Within 5 minutes we both had the feeling that we were not welcome with the dog. We were tired from the trip and stayed despite the restrictions imposed on the dog. Everything else was fine, but that was a big downer. If you are traveling with a dog, register the dog or find another hotel!!

Visiting friends, simply the best restaurant/hotel in the greater Salzkotten area.

The hotel is ok for one night. The room with a double bed is quite large. The bathroom is tiny. The advantage in my room is the balcony.A huge minus is the lack of parking spaces belonging to the hotel.

Very friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast and a great dinner in the in-house restaurant

We had a family lunch there with 17 people, all sitting at a large rectangular table in their own room. You could see each other, talk to each other and there was food for probably twice as many people. Very tasty and we were given the leftovers.
