Visiting a restaurant with ups and downs. We have eaten there several times with the family. We usually always booked a large table with over ten people. I recommend the rump steak to other guests because the chef knows how to fry meat very well. The rest is rather average and very convenient, taste ok.The restaurant is getting old, everything is old, no ambience. I recommend sitting outside in the summer, it's really pretty. But what I find most bitter about is the pricing policy. You should perhaps adapt this to a different ambience so that it fits again overall. In the dessert area you will be given a Schöller ice cream menu. And then you actually have the opportunity to order three scoops of ice cream for almost ten euros. Specifically, the ice cream sundaes here cost around nine euros. That's a disgrace. They are served with the cheapest spray cream, completely without love. You can get this much better in an ice cream parlor for a similar price. The cappuccino didn't work either, so you had to reset the fully automatic machine.I actually don't think it's a problem if an inn in the village broadcasts a kind of old mobile look like this year. But then you should at least make concessions when it comes to prices. There has been a lot of momentum here. But the quality of service, in the kitchen and in the restaurant cannot keep up with this level. Too bad.Addendum to your answerThank you for taking the time. So comprehensive to respond to my review. I'll give one more star for this effort alone, but unfortunately really not more. I know the tense situation in the catering industry all too well. It's not a bad thing to raise the prices either. But then the rest has to go with it. You have an "older" service person who uses a very rude tone towards the guests. (This has also been mentioned several times) You don't feel comfortable at all at this point. The rest of the team is really nice.If you are looking for a dessert, i.e. an ice cream sundae, the prices are identical, if not higher, than in the ice cream parlors in the surrounding cities. This kind of quality really shouldn't happen.I know the Debic gastro cream - it really wasn't - or there is a problem in storage. The ice balls were full of ice crystals, which can be attributed to incorrect storage and processing. On a previous visit we had the spaghetti ice cream. It really wasn't edible, it was two scoops of ice cream for almost nine euros with a ready-made strawberry sauce and some cream. Not more. That really doesn't work. Even the service had sheepishly admitted that this was not good. As compensation we were given a cookie. If they charge prices like that, then they really should have attractive ice cream sundaes. We certainly agree on this point. There is an urgent need for improvement here or perhaps a different type of dessert.

We have been to many family celebrations in the Schwan. A few years ago you could really celebrate there with very good food and friendly service. Unfortunately the food is now just average. You can perhaps ignore the long waiting times and the lack of service. However, the service is unreasonable (by that I expressly don't mean the nice young gentlemen with a migration background!). When the unstructured, elderly waitress complains to the guests with a grumpy look because she has lost track of things, this is clearly going too far. We have noticed this repeatedly, which is why we can unfortunately no longer recommend the Swan.

The rooms are rustic and old but clean. However, you don't have to prepare for a quiet night. From 4:30 a.m. there is a lot going on in the hallway. The cardboard-thick walls protect you from noise.I wouldn't book the room again. The food was good

Rating refers only to the restaurant. We didn't book a room etc. The staff is really on point, you feel in good hands here. The restaurant offers an extremely wide range of dishes to choose from. But there is still a lot of room for improvement when it comes to food, we had 2 chanterelle soups, 1 salami pizza and 2x schnitzel with chanterelles and fries. For whatever reason, the soup was pureed, with relatively coarse pieces. The taste was okay, but the consistency was difficult to enjoy. Pizza was great, it felt like it was the same quality as the kebab shop around the corner (not as greasy, but twice as expensive). The schnitzel with chanterelles was also borderline, the schnitzel and breading tasted as if they had been prepared during the day and then served for dinner. In terms of price, the whole thing is pretty high up. 30 euros for a portion of schnitzel with chanterelles and fries is quite a lot of money, which we are willing to spend if the quality is right.

We can't say much about the hotel itself. But our visit to the restaurant on August 25, 2024 was very good. The menu is very extensive and it's hard to decide because everything sounds delicious. Most of the food is home-style, but there is also pizza and no simple dishes.Staff is very friendly and quite quick. In terms of price, it's not exactly cheap, but it's perfectly fine for the performance it offers. We definitely left full and satisfied. We therefore strongly recommend that you can eat very well here.Rather unsuitable for people who want higher standards.
