The room was spartan and unappealing. The owner is openly rude. The hotel is largely overpriced even with it's nice view of the village and mountains. The only positive is the restaurant which serves a satisfying breakfast.

Short check-in time, the host was rude as we arrived late and he had to stay at reception. We arrived short after 10pm but check in is only until 18:00. Part of the restaurant staff from eastern europe doesn’t speak English or German. Poor Wi-fi.

Very poor structure, a 4-star hotel cannot be defined as such if it does not meet the requirements…Cold swimming pool, (perhaps it would have been good for the end of a spa trip), sauna from the 70s with small mosaic seat and backrest, ugly to say the least. The staff complained from outside because we had entered in swimsuits and not according to the German tradition which involves the naked sauna. He also complained in a rude manner, we then saw the indications of the "spa" (if it can be defined as such) on a sign written in small letters and only in German!European breakfast with non-local products, from the supermarket, non-local cheeses and cured meats, ditto the jams. Many flies were present to keep our breakfast company, which was annoying and unhygienic as the buffet was not covered.

After enough distance from the holiday, I have to say, we had a great holiday, unfortunately we weren't that impressed with the hotel. The Internet and the brochures suggested more friendliness than we ultimately experienced. It was very disappointing, in the evening the boss had guests at the next table who politely pointed out that they had been waiting for drinks for almost an hour and no one had told them that it was buffet food and that you were allowed to serve yourself...then the boss said that that wasn't true and that you should be careful and not point the finger at other people, it will reflect on you at some point... you can't do that as a boss and then go on about the guests at the next table That's not possible, that was our first evening and we really felt like it...the boss also walks around like it's been rainy for 3 days, so I don't notice or see anything from the great pictures that can be seen on the internet and in the brochure.. .there was moldy toast on the breakfast buffet, quite obviously...On Whit Sunday the room wasn't cleaned until 3:30 p.m. when we came back from the trip and wanted to rest and shower...the best thing was actually the king's card It was free, which was also the reason for booking this hotel and the room was very nice, otherwise I can't say anything positive... oh yes, the region is really very beautiful... The lack of staff is probably also a problem, but the guest shouldn't feel that and friendliness doesn't cost anything...

We were there for a three-night wellness package. The treatments are great, the accommodation is very good, although a bit overpriced. The service staff is very attentive and quick to help.Let's get to the food:There is only a 3/4 board, which means breakfast, which is very good, a snack buffet, which I personally didn't eat, and an evening menu with 3 courses plus a salad buffet. On the first day the food was excellent and unfortunately by the last evening it had deteriorated to the point where it was inedible. The first evening we had pesto pasta with chicken fillet, which was very goodOn the second evening there was boiled beef, I think TK, which was carelessly cut by the machine and was very hard. You have to remember that the fibers change in boiled beef and you should only cut against the grain. This was not the case here. On the contrary. On the third evening there was a sea bream with asparagus. It was the smallest sea bream I've ever seen in my life, plus a stalk of asparagus cut in half. The picture speaks volumes. This is the complete portion. When we asked, we were told that nothing more was planned.I had a breaded schnitzel filled with Obazda, served with napkin dumplings, with vinaigrette, no sauce. What's a vinaigrette doing on a napkin dumpling or a breaded schnitzel? Let's be honest. Unfortunately I couldn't find the Obazda. A nice sauce would have been appropriate here.We also met two nice couples and we would have liked to have stayed longer than eight. Then you no longer felt welcome. After 10 p.m. there was virtually no more serving. Strangely enough, every evening the house was completely empty after 8 p.m. after dinner. Conclusion: I was at the Berghof many years ago and was as happy as a little child that I could eat something there. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed because the restaurant that still existed at the time no longer exists. And the food was world class. The treatments are great, the rooms are very good. But unfortunately there is no extra rating for food.Another small example, we wanted to watch ice hockey in the bar, the answer was: I don't even know if the TV works. Next statement: We are not interested in cash transactions. Will that go well?Despite everything, we asked for an extension, which we politely declined due to the exorbitantly high price. We both come from the catering industry, and because of our collegiality I give it three points overall.

Overall only 2 stars because of the overall circumstances. Booked a 3 day wellness package for 2 with 3/4 board. The room with a view of the mountains was spacious and clean. The look is awesome! The mattresses are excellently firm. The breakfast buffet was perfectly fine and the freshly prepared egg dishes were very tasty.Unfortunately, the gastronomic offer was completely suspended from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. But it is probably the forced concept that the guests go on a hike after breakfast and only arrive again towards 6 p.m.However, if you want to take advantage of wellness offers, the space without services can sometimes be a bit long. The massages offered were very good (thanks Karin) and definitely more than worth the money. The pool and sauna area could use a loving hand to polish the teeth of time but was perfectly acceptable. The dinner selection consisted of a 3-course menu with a salad bar beforehand and, if desired, cheese at the end. The main course could be chosen from meat, fish or vegetarian. Starter soup and dessert were quick.Unfortunately, the quality dropped from "very good" to "inedible" from the first to the third day. When we asked whether there really were no preservatives in the hollandaise sauce (due to intolerance), we were told that these were not shown on the tetra pack. The service was very accommodating. The few staff that are there give the best to the guest. Thank you for that!Unfortunately, it feels like being present in the evening for the purpose of making new acquaintances or having a cozy get-together is not so welcome. In addition, smoking in designated smoking areas is not well received. Conclusion: Definitely recommended for summiteers with planned active days. Not for laid-back people who like to socialize and have fun on vacation. We would like to come back to Pfronten, but unfortunately not to this hotel.

We are very satisfied every time. The hotel is owner-managed, everything is very clean, the rooms are spacious, the wellness area is small but nice. The food is of very high quality and sumptuous. …
