I don't even know where to start. My visit to Kolping Jugendwohnen was characterized exclusively by negative experiences. First of all, the parking lot you were directed to was 1.5 kilometers away from the accommodation, so I had to walk 20 minutes with heavy luggage from the car to the accommodation. When you arrived there completely exhausted, you got the message that you had been assigned your roommate by chance. When I asked why you couldn't decide this yourself, the answer was "you should have said that a week in advance" but it doesn't say that anywhere, as the employee confirmed to me. As if that wasn't enough, I opened the door to my room, which resembled a prison cell, although it has to be said that even in prison there is a television. When my colleagues and I went to “dinner” we were quite shocked that there was only pasta with a bit of egg, no meat or sauce. It should also be noted that we all had stomach pains after about 40 minutes. It should also be mentioned that you have to pay €5 for the WiFi, which of course doesn't work in the adult house. And if all that wasn't enough, I dared to look under my mattress on the last day. When I found rates/mouse droppings and chewing gum there, I was amazed. After a quick consultation with my colleague, he confirmed that there were rats/mouse droppings in his room too.Kolping rightly has a bad reputation. That was the first and last time for me and many of my work colleagues in this accommodation.

The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. I spent 3.5 days in this hotel on a business trip. My room was sufficient, although it was a double room, I was lucky enough to live in it alone. The food was acceptable, not outstanding, but not bad either. However, the meal times were inconvenient as I didn't return until around 5:30 p.m. and dinner started at 5:00 p.m. Often some dishes were no longer available. The shared bathroom was reminiscent of a cheap youth hostel. The beds were functional, but too hard for my personal taste as it was a thin mattress on a wooden slab. Overall, my stay was relatively pleasant.(Of course, perception is subjective and lies in the eye of the beholder.)

Absolutely recommended. Our daughter was a resident in this house during her training. The impression after these three years? It was the right decision! Very clean, reliable care when she was still a minor, good food and an always friendly demeanor from the whole team.We can neither understand nor confirm the bad Google reviews. So why do so many people rate it poorly? Hmm... Possibly your own demeanor and raising your children to be polite and respectful is a key to the success of any situation...

Completely overpriced for the fact that it's supposed to be something social. This doesn't justify the food which is included in the price. It doesn't taste good and the portions you get are so small that Kolping spends a maximum of 50 cents per meal and charges €6 per meal ticket. You can also wait forever for packages and letters. Some of the staff are friendly, but you don't feel like stopping by. If I had read the reviews before signing, I would have preferred to leave it alone.
