After 4 times here, I have to say it's a really classic hotel, families are welcome and small children to, my children love it although when the children were sometimes loud we had some classic looks from old people, but it's family friendly atmosphere, food is good not perfect but for the price is ok. The breakfast is amazing👌 with original local products, that I have to say I didn't find in other 5star hotels in the area. Pool and spa is simply gorgeous and clean, I've been here 4 times and I will come again.

I just ate here with my boyfriend's Family. I don't have any idea, how they manage the hotel. I have a few things to say about the Restaurant. It is a no 4 Star Restaurant. Bad Service for a socalled 4 StarHotel and Restaurant. I ordered Fish, didn't taste good, needs more seasoning, has TOO MANY fish bone, too OILY, obviously served directly in the plate and didn't rest even for a second. All of our orders was served only in a few Minutes, an obvious that they have frozen meat and fish and they don't prepare the food well. Told the Servers of food didn't even say sorry. It i a 0 Star Restaurant. Grauenhaft! I want to go on with the small details but that would be too much.

We are here for the second time. Now, immediately after the renovation, the hotel appears even more beautiful/modern.The staff is super friendly and often recognizes customer requests before they are expressed.The 5-course menu is often absolutely top and if it doesn't suit your personal taste, you can fall back on an alternative menu.Everything is just great.

During my week-long stay in this hotel there were positive and unfortunately also many negative experiences that I would like to share.Positive:The pool is definitely a highlight of the hotel. It's a good size that allows you to relax and swim laps instead of just splashing around in the water.One evening there was live music which made the evening special.You got good information about hikes through tour folders etc.Negatives:Unfortunately, this was one of the few positive aspects. The friendliness of the employees left a lot to be desired. It was disappointing that the staff did not show genuine hospitality, which was also reflected in many small but important details.The soft drinks were only offered in tiny 0.33 liter bottles, which is incomprehensible to me, especially given the exorbitant prices. The price-performance ratio is simply not right here.The buffet also left a lot to be desired. If the bread was empty it wasn't refilled, which just shouldn't happen at a buffet. The cheese buffet in the evening, which obviously consisted of leftovers from breakfast, was disturbing. Some of the cheese was already covered with an unappetizing skin, which indicates a lack of freshness and care.Basically the food was solid. In my opinion it's not appropriate for a 4 star hotel, but it was tasty. You should focus more on regionality and freshness of the products.The dirty cutlery was another major annoyance. Hygiene should be a top priority in a hotel, but that didn't seem to be the case here.The behavior of the waiters was even more unpleasant. It is unprofessional if they loudly gossip about other employees in front of guests. This creates an uncomfortable atmosphere and gives the impression that the team doesn't work well together.As far as the service is concerned, no interest was shown in the guests. No friendly inquiries like “What are you planning to do today?” or “How was your day?” Even when we left we didn't ask if everything was okay or if we were satisfied. This is disappointing and leaves a bad impression.Conclusion:In particular, the lack of service and the lack of friendliness of the staff significantly spoil the overall experience. Unfortunately, based on these experiences, I cannot recommend this hotel. The Tannheimer Tal is a wonderful area for hiking. However, I would choose a different hotel next time I visit. This was the worst “hiking hotel” I have visited so far.

After the recently completed renovations and new buildings of the reception, bar and foyer, the Lumberger Hof has received a new and modern look. As in recent years, a lot is constantly being invested in the attractiveness of the house. Mainly visited by hiking holidaymakers, this hotel with its 4 stars is also more familiar and cheaper than some fancy hotels with 5 stars, but that doesn't detract from the quality. The excellent food, also vegan, and the friendliness of the staff do the rest to sweeten your stay. Highly recommended!
