Pros:1. It was a 10-minute walk from the central train and bus station.2. They will offer free drinks to compensate for the inconvenience they caused.Cons:1. The hotel is situated in the dodgy area of the city.2. Extremely dishonest personnel. They tried to cancel my reservation A DAY BEFORE of the booking due to a water pipe issue. I said unless they find a new hotel for us on their expense, they can’t simply cancel my reservation (reiterating that I’m travelling with a child). When we did not agree with their presented alternative (a hotel an hour away from their location), they gave us the room which we originally paid and reserved and as expected, there was no water pipe issue. They simply overbooked and tried to burden us with their incompetency.3. They did room service and left a cockroach in the bathroom.4. Impossible to sleep in their rooms with no air condition in the year 2024 (not even sound proof walls), which means you have to sleep with open windows in the summer. The location is right across a main street so the ambulance and cars passing by will wake you up at night. Not to mention the loud chatting passer-bys (drunk and not).5. No elevator. You have to carry your luggage. Good luck if your room is on the 3rd/4th floor.

The room was fresh, with a newly renovated toilet. Clean. Comfortable bed. I liked the area, it was filled with fruit vendors and restaurants. Plus it was close to the station.I do not understand the complaints about the rooms being dirty or bed being uncomfortable. However, it is true that the isolation is extremely thin. So you will hear anything going on in the hotel and also everyone walking around outside (it's a party area so people were loud late into the night). A tip to the hotel would be to but doors between every floor, and also put better isolation around the actual doors to the room to make sure not as much noise can travel inside. But all in all I would definitely come back since the location was good. It was easy to check in, and check out. Decent pricing, fresh rooms. Bring earplugs (preferably that you can play music in, to muffle out even more sound) and you'll be alright.

The only good thing was the proximity to the main central station. There is NO ELEVATOR and I was put in the 4th floor! Not friendly to disabled people. The room itself was fine but there was some mold in the bathroom. I'm giving 2 stars bc while the receptionist was mediocre, a very nice employee carried my bags down for me. For the price you could find better.

We booked at Wikinger Hof and got the room in "Hotel Mercedes".The hotel need more work on renovation. Especially everything in the entrance, carpet-flooring, and wall coverings. I didn't expect anything fancy from the hotel, it's cheap, located near main station (but it's not in a clean neighborhood), and the people who work there are also nice, but the carpet-flooring is just horrible and it just feels uncomfortable to be barefooted in my own room.

Right after check in I checked the bed and unfortunately it had some dead bugs and black hairs. Staff offered that they can change the bed sheets next morning, but as I needed to sleep that night too this didnt work for me. …

I read the reviews beforehand so was prepared for what was in store. On arrival at the hotel, we were early so asked if we could leave our cases until a suitable checking in time. …

This is a pretty terrible hotel, although the price is cheap. The room was OK but there were gross dirty net curtains and old dirty normal curtains which were disgusting just to touch. The hotel is on a very busy road so if you have the window open there is a lot of noise all night. There was one shared bathroom for I don't know how many bedrooms but there was a queue each time and it was one floor above. Every time I used the bathroom the floor was soaked, there were other dirty towels lying around and in general I have stayed in backpackers hostels with much better facilities. The only good thing was the included breakfast which had a large selection.

The most terrible Hotel I have ever been to! This summer I went there with my wife. We were supposed to spend two days there. From the very beginning, even in the main corridor, was dirty and messy. In our room was even worse. It looked scruffy, like was not cleaned since ages and the floor was totally sticky. In the bathroom we were even afraid to touch anything. Obviously we delayed our stay there immediately and till now we have not got back our advance payment from the hotel. All other sleeping options in Hamburg would be probably better, even in a simple Hostel. I do not recommend.

It’s fair to say that this hotel has seen better days - but the staff are friendly and the rooms are quiet and comfortable (if not all together clean). The breakfast was st the next door Mercedes Hotel and was adequate. …

We stayed here one night on our European road trip. It was a bit difficult to find as it is only one small door on the street and we were driving. …
