Went there for one night as a rest it was a buisness trip and I am clearly confused by all the negativity its close to the train station and the rooms itself were clean and had a safe which is not in every hotel and the morning breakfast was great and for the stuff that happens outside its not too noticeable and even then its not within their power to influence it, for its price its amazing.

The room was okay considering the price except for one thing which is the mold in the bathroom. That shouldn’t be there no matter how cheap it is. Other than that the place was clean and tidy although the interior was dated and a bit worn down but that was expected. Breakfast again was very fair for the price. Very basic but good. Staff was friendly and helpful but service level was very basic. Overall would be very fair for the price if it wasn’t for the mold.

Where to start?!, first of all we felt really unsafe walking from the HBF to the hotel although it is not far at all. It is located in a rough and loud neighbourhood. When we arrived at the hotel entrance, the door was locked and we had to buzz to get in. At that point I felt I have made a mistake booking this hotel. Checkin was fine, although we allocated 2 single bed room, when I booked for a double bed. A room was changed onced complained. Ended up in room 201 faced the main street. Have to also mention there are 5 floor but the tiny lift only goes to 4th floor. We see how we go with the noise level. Sure enough it was loud and ppl yelling, arguing at 4am! Our sleep was definitely interrupted. We moved out after the first night. Also, we have to mention that we were misled by photo on Google search. I assume the photo edited by the hotel which conceal the true sign of the shop under the hotel which is ' World of sex'. If I saw it I wouldn't book this hotel 100%. Although this hotel is not for us , I'm sure it is good enough for many who like affordable, with breakfast hotel regardless what is in the area. The room comfort (less the noise from outside) and breafast were acceptable. Photo attached shows the real front of the hotel.

We were quite disappointed with this hotel and would not recommend it. It is located near the Hauptbahnhof, with seedy, garbage-strewn streets, homeless, transients, beggars and other unsavory people. There us no street-front to the hotel, only a door where you must be buzzed in. Right nextdoor is a very large "World of Sex" business. Our room, which was spacious enough, was not what the online photos showed. The carpet is aged and unclean, the furniture is worn, and there is an unpleasant odor in the room. The room is dingy, lighting is insufficient. And there is no available outlet for charging phones and other devices. I had to crawl on my hands and knees under furniture to unplug one of the bedside lamps so that we could charge our phones There is no air conditioning, and there is a charge to use use in-room safe. There is free Wi-Fi. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows are very thin. The bathroom has had an update but very cramped. It was virtually impossible to wash our faces or brush our teeth using the tiny sink. The space in front of the toilet is so narrow that we had to sit siseways, and it was very difficult to enter or exit the shower stall. Our windows looked out into a small outer space with windows from the adjacent building just a few feet away. One redeeming feature was a fairly good breakfast. There wasn't a huge selection, but the food was fairly good quality, especially the fresh buns and bread. Having noted many negative aspects, the hotel was fairly busy. Staff service was good.I see that the hotel management has responded ro my review, and found it offensive that I mentioned the homeless people, transients and other less savory people around the hotel. However management didn't address ANY of my criticisms about the hotel itself. Hotel management should stick to the business of managing the hotel and improving it, rather than chastising me for my observations of garbage on the street and undesirable characters near the hotel. I stand by my criticisms of the hotel itself. DO NOT stay there if you can avoid it.

I has a very bad expericence on booking this hotel, where communication was not adequately managed, resulting in an unexpected charge, my concern about being charged for a two-night stay without prior notification. I was charged for booking 406846159 at hotel Novum Hotel Hamburg Stadtzentrum from May 23, 2024 to May 25, 2024.I was not informed about the update on this booking, so I went ahead and made a reservation with Numa Fore Rooms and Apartments for the same dates. My visit to Hamburg was completed as planned. If I had been notified about this booking or charge, I would not have arranged other accommodations for the same dates or would have canceled it beforehand. The charge was incurred due to insufficient information on your end. I've attached a snippet from my email, which shows that I was never notified of the confirmation or the upcoming booking, I just received 1st email/notification about this booking on May 24th, when it was already charged.worse thing is, upon raising concern with Customer Support team, till now they have not not responded.

I do not understand why people have given bad reviews to this hotel. It is true that the location is not perfect, you actually feel quite unsafe in that area ...but this is not the hotel's fault. This is probably why the front door opens from the inside and you have to ring a bell to be admitted.Another disadvantage is that the furniture in the rooms is old fashioned and probably date back to the 70s.BUT the rooms are warm and clean, the bedsheets clean and white, the bathroom totally refurbished with hot water any time of the day. Although it is in a very busy and noisy street, inside it is very quiet because there is double glazing. Breakfast is rich and you can choose from a variety of different things to eat.But the most important thing of all, is that the staff are polite and helpful. There is a receptionist 24/7 to help you with anything. Finally, you can leave your luggage with the hotel, after you have checked out, without extra charge, until the time you get the train or plane to your next destination.

My company booked this place for me for a week. 6am I woke up to catch a train from Berlin to Hamburg. I arrive at the hotel at 10:30ish. It's directly across from Hauptbahnhof. There is a sex club next door and prostitutes getting high front of the door. I was booked a double room but given an economy instead. I wasn't told that the company booked a double... Just given economy. I did not ask for an early check-in. They fixed the error but the quality didn't change. The mattresses are very thin and a double is just two single mattresses pushed together. I weigh 105kg of muscle. I woke up in the space that's created from two mattresses pushed together, but not fixed together, my feet hanging off the bed. There was an inch of dust on the cabinet. It had not been cleaned in months. My company, when I volunteered to go help a struggling sister store, booked me in the cheapest place I have ever stayed in. Every morning there are prostitutes and junkies just waiting at the door.

Deutche Bahn stopped all trains going to Hamburg in Frankfurt on the day where I was supposed to check in to this hotel. I tried calling the hotel but was constantly put on hold with waiting music on. …
