My husband and I visited this hotel on a cycle trip across Europe. It was an amazing place and very interesting. It dated back to 1158!. It was clean, and it had everything you would need for a comfortable stay.It had a flat screen TV, a hairdryer, shower gel, and soap. Nice white towels. It was right in the middle to town, close to the bars and the restaurants and shops, etc. They kindly let us store our bikes in the garage.Breakfast was great. The lady who served us was excellent. We enjoyed the breakfast very much.A great stay apart from it was very noisy in the street at night and went on till early hours. But we loved the hotel.

The food was very good. The food server was also very good but the bartender served me a beer that had a one inch long piece of detritus sinking to the bottom. When I showed it to him, he took the glass from me, poured it into a different glass and indignantly proclaimed it to be yeast. I would have expected an apology and a fresh beer but that was not offered. I drank the beer and near the bottom I found the sunken brown object. I gave the glass to the bartender who again proclaimed it to be yeast and tried to dig it out with a knife. What a disgrace. There are plenty of other places to have a clean beer in the town...I will never return to ZumRiese. Hopefully he took the queue to clean his taps and pipes.

The famous Inn of the Giant is said to be the oldest pub in Germany. King Gustav of Sweden and Elvis (among many other celebrities) have allegedly been here to dine and drink. We stopped by for a drink and it seemed to be a mix of locals and tourists.

Great Building. But it turns out that the Germans don't like you taking photos of the inside.

It was nice, the lemonade was not natural, is more like Sprite, I expected a handmade one so it's nice to know it is not handmade. The amount of food was nice.It is not overpriced, I find it nice, as regular, as expected. It has healthy vegetarian plate too. They work on a pandemic precautions fine, and desinfect the tables before you sit.The waiters are so nice :)

Favourite place that we visit every tome we are in Miltenberg. The place looks beautiful. Never been accommodated here though. The staff is nice and everything worked as smooth as could even in Covid era.I miss the pfanne with all the meat and sausages. Disappeared from the menu some time ago and it was the best this place can offer. No matter, you can choose from variety of great foods 😋

Visited the Gasthaus zum Riesen, which was recommended by locals and TripAdvisor alike. Can’t go wrong in Germany’s oldest guesthouse. …

Had seen this place earlier and noted it as a possible place to eat. After wandwering the streets of Miltenberg and finding places outside full we saw a vacant table outside Zum Reisen so we sat down . Beers were good . …

Old world atmosphere. Accommodation could have been taken directly out of a story from the brothers Grimm.Something one should experience before it disappears.Keep in mind, there is TV in the room, WiFi is in some of the rooms. We stayed in room 15 with WiFi.Location is great. Parking is not that convenient but you can drive up to the hotel to drop off your baggage.

Delicious!....and charming. Had the dark version of the local bier (Faust) and Matjes Herring with cream, apples, pickles and onions....heaven! Also try the horseradish soup....surprisingly rich and tasty. Great service from our male waiter!
