Fehmelbauer is an exceptional 500-year-old half-timbered house in the heart of Germany, and staying here was a remarkable experience. The historic charm of the building is truly captivating, providing a genuine sense of stepping back in time while enjoying modern comforts.The staff at Fehmelbauer were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making our stay even more enjoyable. Their hospitality is second to none, always ready to assist with a smile.The local food was a highlight, with traditional dishes like Knoedel and Spaetzle that were simply delightful. It's clear that great care and pride go into the preparation of each meal.We visited on what may well have been one of the hottest days of the year, and it was indeed very warm inside our rooms. However, on any other day, the room would certainly have been comfortable. This minor inconvenience did not detract from the overall experience.The view from our room in the morning was quintessentially German, a serene and picturesque scene that perfectly captured the essence of the Franconia region.Lastly, the breakfast room was phenomenal. Starting the day with a delicious breakfast in such a charming setting was the perfect way to begin our adventures.

The Family that owns this restaurant are the greatest people. Udo is a fantastic chef and this is excellent German food. It is a very warm and friendly place and I would recommend it as one of the best restaurants in Bavaria.

Beautiful old building with its own distinctive character. The room was small but very cozy and the bed very comfortable. The staff was very helpful, friendly and generally awesome. They even have a shed nearby to park bikes and motorbikes.The food in the restaurant was delicious, specially the Schäufele and the whole experience was amazing. Never felt neglected or forgotten, as the staff was very attentive and well-spirited.

Loved everything about our stay here--the location (quiet and yet right in the picturesque old town), the food, the service (the bartender generously showed me around the historic house, including the well and breakfast room, which had been cow stalls). We were helped with all of our bags and able to keep our bikes in a locked area (the town is a stop on the Mainradweg). The restaurant was completely full (amazing food), but because we were "house guests", we were immediately shown to the next free table. As a vegetarian, I was excited to see they had a beautiful salad topped with hot broccoli "hash browns" (delicious), and my husband loved the pork shoulder they are famous for. Hats off! Was perfect.
