Food actually was good. We had a salad, vegetable soup and a delicious lamb dish which our server seemed to highly recommend. He spoke little English. He seemed very was very friendly. We were a bit suspicious because there was no menu. …

Make absolutely sure to give this place a wide berth! We were a group of ten long-distance hikers passing in the middle of a long, pretty wet day. So we were disappointed to find nearby Cafe´Nicklis closed. …

My husband and I have travel all over Europe, Japan, Canada and the US. We have never come across a man like this. When we arrived there was nobody else there. We went to a small building next to the main building. …

Our experience only pertains to the restaurant. We were terrified upon reading the reviews, which we only started to do after we ordered our dinner. It's true, the menu is limited and there are no prices. We simply asked the prices of each dish as the owner ticked them off. We found it charming that there are only a few items - it beckons back to a simpler time. Be forewarned though, you need to speak German to clearly communicate here. The main courses are a bit pricey for the area. However, we found the prices justified upon seeing the large portions (unusual for Germany) and finding out the meat is locally sourced. The food itself was scrumptious. We were quite happy with our orders. Our side salads were also noteworthy for the mix of pickled and fresh vegetables. The owner was kind to us (we noticed a ton of reviews mentioning him being grumpy). He showed us the nesting birds on the property and explained that he helps sustain a colony of 300 local birds that can no longer make their homes in barns, as many of these structures have been torn down due to environmental laws. The damage for our dinner was 77 Euro. At the end of the day though, we were happy to pay and deem this expenditure within the realm of acceptability.

Went in there for a coffee and some cake. The prices are over the top, but clearly marked in the menu. It should have cost 20 euro for two coffees and cakes, which is extreme in Pfalz, but he insisted it cost 28 eruo. No receipt was given.||Avoid this place!

The prices are insane!!!! The meat served to us was disgusting, maybe old, reheated, freezer burnt but it did not taste like lamb for sure or the beef we ordered. 3 of us had 1 water 2 non alcohol beers, a salad each, a soup each and a …

I wish I have read reviews before we stopped here!Place looks nice from the road and after very long motorbike trip we wanted to stop for what we expected is some typically good German food in nice surroundings. Only the food tasted awful, place is a rip off, smooth talking waiter tells you specials but what he does not tell you is that they are priced like it is a Michelin restaurant. My advice is steer clear from it.

Worst place in history!Stay away scam!We got received by a grumpy man who told us that the normal menu is not available at the moment then he stated some dishes without telling the prices for each. We had both choosen the Schnitzel with Pommes. After we got our dishes we asked for ketchup and he brought us to big bins full of ketchup were one would have been enough for a full size family. The Schnitzel tasted terrible and the French fries were greasy. Then we asked for the bill and he wrote down everything on a piece of paper and got to total value of 55€! For 2 bad Schnitzels a small salad and 2 drinks. Then he got really mean and wanted cash only. When I told him I only got card he insulted me and told me to follow him into the hotel.I would never ever recommend this to anybody !Stay away from this “Restaurnt”

It was a sunny weekday, 2 weeks after the lifting the COVID-19. the pricelist was indeed visible, however the boss was professional in manipulating the guests to place the order prior to the glance through the menu. …
