Just a great old-fashioned German place and a business that has been on the location for centuries. The kitchen has great food, local German dishes a cut above the average and also Thai dishes. It may sound strange but there is a family connection so hence the Thai kitchen which is also expertly prepared. I didn't try it, but I saw the dishes all around me and I talked with the owner. Unfortunately after all of these centuries this is the last year that this business will be there and a loss for the community. The house itself is a protected structure but the rest of it will be torn down for senior housing and the restaurant will be no more. But while it's still there it's a great place to eat and has the typical German inn bedrooms upstairs and in the wing scrubbed clean and comfortable. Just a short distance from downtown Speyer.

Very nice courtyard where you can sit a little away from the street. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food tasted great, was of high quality and was sufficient. I can't rate the rooms.

We stayed here for three nights. On the upper floor we had a room with a sloping ceiling, so someone always had to bend over in bed. Rooms are extremely noisy, curtains don't darken things, bed and mattress were fine, rather soft. TV is a 19 inch monitor. There's no need to sleep in in the morning because you can hear everything in the hallway, including the vacuum cleaner at 8 a.m.WiFi doesn't work upstairs, and even after repeated requests, the hotel management didn't feel compelled to take care of the problem.Bathtub with shower curtain, shower head contaminated with germs, dangerous getting in and out. The hallway stairs to the top rooms are very steep. In the evening, the hearty smell of food wafts up the hallway from the restaurant, so it's better if you're a vegetarian or vegan and don't step out. There was no bill when paying... and that's only possible in cash. But: The parking situation is fine.

Boring, bland and saltyWe went here for dinner and I have to say that I haven't eaten so badly in a long time.On the one hand, the meat was not seasoned at all and the sauce was totally over salted. The chicken was still raw and the vegetables were overcooked. Only the plate language was appealing. A real flop for the prices asked.
