Hotel Mukran

Good family hotel, child-friendly.Rooms well equipped and the food is also great. Sun loungers and playground available. The hotel is in a quiet, secluded location but still only 2 minutes from the beach.Friendly employees, great price/performance

Why the hotel has two entries here on Google - I have no idea.The former Hotel Staphel has been called Hotel Mukran for some time. The location of the hotel corresponds (as of 11/2024) to the position of the Hotel Staphels here on Google Maps.Before reunification, it was first a holiday hotel and later also accommodation for workers during the port construction in Mukran.It is located somewhat out of the way on the edge of the forest on beautiful, green terrain. From here you can hike directly into the forest or start a bike tour.However, at the back, some distance away and only partially hidden by trees, there is the ruin of another hotel. If you have a room with a view to the back, this could be annoying.The Hotel Mukran is one of the cheap hotels on Rügen, which you can't tell from the outdated homepage (as of 11/2024). The hotel is offered there for well over 100 euros without meals. In fact, you can get a double room for 110 euros - and that includes breakfast and a 3-course dinner (in the partner hotel 5-10 minutes away). Lt. According to the staff, you can also book the hotel exclusively with half board.For the price you get sufficiently large rooms with comfortable beds, stable internet, a usable (empty) refrigerator and a sufficiently large bathroom with a well-functioning shower.It was clean and we really liked the location.The breakfast is not very varied (we were here for a week), but it is extensive and good.It's a bit annoying that you have to register for a fixed time for dinner. There are 2 main courses each, which you have to decide on at reception the day before. Small changes (e.g. for vegetarians) can still be made in the evening. The dinner was always delicious - although the size varied greatly. Once there was a good portion, one day until I came back hungry from the meal.But you also have to make compromises for the low price:The reception is only open until 4:30 p.m. There are some unsightly spots in the bathroom - especially the silicone seals and the rooms are also a bit noisy. The room is only cleaned upon request - the information in the folder in the room was incorrect in many respects. Afterwards you should, for example: get a 5 euro voucher for every day you skip cleaning.In contrast to the rooms, the building (corridors and especially the emergency exits) was not very clean.This and the bathrooms are to be renovated in the foreseeable future.Bicycles can be rented at the hotel - at relatively low prices (normally under 10 euros and e-bikes under 20 euros/day). We had our own bikes with us and used them to explore Rügen's cycle paths, some of which were very poor.There is a bus stop near the hotel (about 500m). Otherwise you have to rely on a car or bike - the nearest supermarket is over 5km away.We felt very comfortable here and found the price/performance ratio to be excellent. Nevertheless, the smaller defects do not allow for a full number of stars.We would definitely book here again!

For the price there is nothing to complain about. Yes, it's not that luxurious but overall we were more than satisfied. We were able to play with our kids on the playground in the evening in complete peace and quiet. Indoors there is a lounge and a games room.The breakfast was more than sufficient and varied - it was constantly being replenished.A clear recommendation from us.

The hotel is nice and the rooms too. There just needs to be more variety at breakfast. Were there for 10 days and every day it was the same.
