We stayed there this week in our way through Germany. There is plenty of parking outside the hotel. The bedroom was clean and it had a balcony with a lovely view. Room 339. The shower was very good. We did not have dinner but we enjoyed drinks in the bar. Good cocktails and very attentive bar men. We had our dog with us in the bar and it was perfect. Breakfast was lovely. Good selection and the best is the real honey on the buffet. Wow! Thank you.

My experience here was beyond unacceptable, and I was treated with blatant disrespect and hostility by the receptionist. The hotel we originally booked and paid for double-booked our room and sent us to a hotel they were working with to accommodate the double bookings, the Congress Hotel. We arrived at 2 am, exhausted, only to be greeted by an incredibly rude receptionist who began to direct his anger toward us. He made it clear that he found it “unacceptable” that we were sent there, saying, “I think this is unacceptable that they are sending ‘so many of you’ people here.” But eventually he begrudgingly called another colleague, we assumed this was an effort to find us a room.We overheard him speaking on the phone, making comments about us: “I don’t know what these people are doing in Weimar, or what their business is here.” This went beyond mere inconvenience—it felt personal, like we were being treated with contempt for no reason other than the fact that we were sent there late at night. After making us stand there for about 30 minutes, he revealed that he was not in fact going to give a room and that there was “no availability.” He said he was calling his colleague because he was “curious” why we were sent to him. We were stunned that he had wasted so much of our time, only to tell us this at the end. He even admitted there had only been one other couple (in the same situation as us) sent over before us who he accommodated, which made it clear that he was lying and intentionally withholding a room from us out of pure spite.Despite explaining our difficult situation—searching for a place to stay at 3 am—he showed no remorse or kindness, instead saying, “That’s not my problem.” The entire experience was not only unprofessional but also had an unsettling undertone of xenophobia. This kind of treatment is disgraceful. No one should have to deal with such rude and dismissive behavior while simply being sent there due to gross negligence.

Thank God I only stayed here 1 night. This hotel was very dirty and I had 2 cockroaches in my room that I killed. Because of this, I did not get any sleep and didn't want to eat the breakfast. Very disappointed and warn anyone wanting to stay here.

The hotel appears well kept but the building is getting a bit outdated. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is varied and rich but has too few staff to properly cope with bigger numbers of patrons (tables not cleaned, buffet replenishment tardy). The rooms are quite spacious but the mini bar was empty and there is carpeting on the floor which I don't like at all in a hotel. The choice of cocktails in the hotel bar is rather meagre. As this is a congress hotel, there being events is to be expected but they were very loud at times and they could accomodate non-event guests in other parts of the building.

Arrival went well, but after a power outage, over 36 hours without internet, no servicing of the room, and a very loud elevator on the other side of the wall, I just had to leave two days early. Luckily, there were rooms available in Erfurt at the Prizeotel by Radisson.

In order to cover the cigarette smoke they used aggressive room perfume. Not good. The shower had almost no water, and the little amount was either hot or cold. Furniture had better days but the bed was nice and clean, much cleaner than the carpet... sorry, too pricy for the quality.

Outdated, poorly kept hotel from early 90s. Putting the flat tv doesn't mean renovation.
