As a family (2 adults, 3 children) we spent a week on vacation at the Bunte Schafe farm. We chose this farm because of its nice website with a depiction of the holiday apartment, the farm with the animals, the felt workshop and, among other things, the farm shop. When we arrived there by train and bicycle, we were warmly welcomed. We were shown the farm and the holiday apartment and explained how to separate waste. The holiday apartment consists of two rooms and a sleeping loft with steep wooden stairs. There is space for 4 people on the sleeping loft. In the first room there are two separate beds. In the living room there is a very outdated sofa bed. The living room also has a fireplace. The kitchen is poorly equipped. There is a dishwasher for two people. The cutlery, pots and plates are also very old. It should also be mentioned that the holiday apartment does not have a lockable door. The owner of the holiday apartment was initially friendly, but there were many rules to follow over the course of the stay. Firstly, that the children please do not climb trees or touch anything else. There is no playing on the sleeping loft, just sleeping. The chickens must not be disturbed as they are currently breeding. The chicken coop is located right next to the entrance to the holiday apartment. This makes it extremely difficult for children to be quiet all the time and not disturb the chickens. The children were blamed for a broken egg. Our daughter's pot lid broke while she was carrying dishes. This incident attracted a lot of attention and I should look into replacing the pot lid.The farm itself is also not in good condition. In the middle of the yard there is a huge pile of wood from which tall plants are already growing. Tools such as wheelbarrows, garden chairs and tables are also getting old.Since we were traveling by bike, our attention was also on the farm shop to provide us with easy supplies. Unfortunately, this farm shop didn't even exist. You could get eggs. The activities advertised on the homepage such as felt workshop, being close to the animals (looking after sheep, running ducks, cats, chickens) and baking stick bread are also not available. The offer is very misleading. The children were allowed to feed the chickens, but only in the presence of their parents. The alpaca that lived there was allowed to be fed once. The highlight, however, was when the farmer told us that three pilgrims would be staying overnight tonight. Since there is no spatial separation between the holiday apartment and the pilgrim room, you have the feeling that there are strangers in the holiday apartment. The bottom line is that the operator seems overwhelmed and you don't feel welcome.
