I stayed in this hostel a few weeks ago and at first thought the hostel was alright (other than location) but then bedbugs were found in our room, which was dealt with very badly. I never normally give reviews, much less negative ones but I feel I need to share our experience with this hostel. Location: we arrived late at night and found it very difficult to find the door, my friend and I were wandering up and down and did not feel safe in the area at all. It's a bit better in the day but I did not feel safe there at night.Rooms: the hostel inside is alright, there were plenty of showers, the bedrooms were fine but the toilets smelt a bit. We didn't use the kitchen but that looked fine as well. For the first two nights we were happy in the hostel but on our second night, some people in our room found bedbugs. The staff came in with a flashlight and masking tape to remove them and nothing more was done. We slept in the room again for a third night, and only on the next day did they have pest removal people in. We walked into the room to find all the beds were stripped, everything moved, mattresses on the floor (see photos for proof) and all our stuff on the floor, with everything covered in some sort of repellant spray. A staff member came by and when we expressed shock about the state of the room, only offered us new bedding. Next thing, I looked over and saw a bedbug still on a mattress. We went to reception and were given a full refund and left the hostel as luckily it was our last night anyway. The next day I had several bites on my arm from bedbugs. I understand of course that bedbugs can happen anywhere (although the hostel should be better at enforcing people not using their own bedding) but the hostel did not do anything for over 24 hours to remove the bugs, and threw our stuff on the floor and expected us to reorganise the room. I would strongly urge people to reconsider if the cheap price per night is worth it, I wish I had paid slightly more and stayed somewhere nicer.

Not the nicest place but the people we met there made up for it. It felt very safe, the stuff were really good and made sure no weirdos stayed there, one guy got kicked out on arrival, and for that we were all greatfull. …

I really loved my stay at Comebackpackers. The staff were super nice. Luca and Dodi were working reception while I was there, and they had great suggestions on things to do and places to eat. I came by myself and I felt safe the whole time. Just remember to bring a fan if you go in the summer, because it gets hot in the rooms.

Initially, I wasn’t sure if I’d made the right choice, but this hostel quickly proved me wrong. The location is unbeatable, the vibe is laid-back, and the value is hard to beat. The kitchen and dining area are spacious, and they even offer an affordable laundry service. I’d definitely recommend staying here!

Cleanliness: I do not think anybody is cleaning any of the rooms or bathrooms because there is dust everywhere and in the bathroom there are brown spots on the floor from dirt (so when all of that gets wet it becomes disgusting). Also I stayed there three nights and I never saw one cleaner. Also i think staff should check for any dead animals in room Qock, because it smells like decompostion everytime you even open the door to the room slightly.Atmosphere: The people staying at the hostel are really nice and also most of the staff are very welcoming. Also the main living room is a good place to spend time.Safety: As many reviews have stated before this is the third most dangerous area in Germany. I was lucky nothing has happened to me, but there is an ambulance going off every 5 minutes. There are a lot of people doing drugs just outside. My own complaint: I made a separate booking from my friends, but I asked to be in the same room as them. So I called the hostel a few days earlier and they told me to write them an email. I did so but nobody responded and later we found out we were not placed in the same room. But thanks a lot to the staff who was kind enough the next day to put us in the same room.Another complaint: the receptionist working night shifts is always high and even smoking weed on job as I once saw him do so through the window.

Comebackpackers is a relatively small but homely hostel. The staff were super friendly. Toilets at times were unclean but just due to lack of them and also the sharing between men and women. Right next to the metro and was fairly walkable into the city centre. Nice social atmosphere as the communal area is cozy. Showers were clean. My main complaint would be just the lack of toilets cleanliness. However for the price I would definitely recommend!

Nice room smelly toilets but great location.Cleaner binned some of my girlfriends personal items one morning (by accident of course but still caused us fustration especially as we stored it close to the bed by our bags etc, it didn't look as though it was just litter in the middle of the floor)

The receptionists are super friendly, as well as the general vibe of the hostel. It’s located right near a metro station. The only thing I didn’t like was the extra charge for sheets, which I’ve never seen before.

I found it a bit difficult because there was no sign; only the hostel's name was written on the wall. Upon arrival, I didn't expect such a place.👌 The host's service was excellent, and they spoke great English and German. They were very kind and friendly.👌 The place had a fantastic atmosphere, with young and very friendly guests. The café was free, but you had to buy alcoholic drinks from there, as bringing them in from outside was not allowed. I paid 18 euros for one night, 3 euros for the bed linen, and a 20-euro deposit for the locker key, which is refunded upon checkout. The price was excellent compared to the good services. It has a great terrace where you can chill, drink, and enjoy the view👍😍. I'm very happy with this experience and will definitely return to this hostel. 👌👍
