I travel all over the world for business and usually stay in large, swanky hotel chains. So I looked in Google Maps for hotels surrounding the venue I had to go to and found Pension Peters. It is quite different from the usual hotel chains. It isn’t a luxury place with tons of fancy art work on the wall, endless corridors of rooms with fancy key card readers, but….The place is charming, cozy and my room was huge. I’m used to staying in tiny rooms that would barely allow me to turn around, but not here. The building is old, from 1898, so the rooms have these large, decorated stucco ceilings that were typical for Victorian times. The windows are huge and allow for a lot of light. While decor and bathroom are sparse, they are clean and welcoming. The doors, which are large and heavy, still have decorative hardware and need to be opened with an actual key.Arriving was also super personalized. Because they don’t have hundreds of rooms, I was one of two guests who hadn’t arrived yet, so the manager, Sven greeted me warmly with “you can only be Ms. Honacker or the other name.”Breakfast is a must! It’s all organic, healthy foods and the selection is rather large. One can choose from Gluten Free items as well. The location is spectacular! In the middle of Charlottenburg, it’s quite literally in the heart of Berlin. Surrounded by tons of little restaurants, cafes, parks and shops means that you don’t have to drive or even use public transportation to get anywhere. In conclusion, I would stay here any day over the fancy large chains. The fact that this is a family run business is apparent in all of it. Would definitely, definitely recommend them. One thing that might be important to mention, it appears there is no AC. So not sure if or how the rooms would be cooled during the high temperatures in summer. I wasn’t in need of AC, because the temperatures were nice and I opened the windows.

Pension Peters is a budget hotel that offers good rooms at an affordable price. It’s located near public transportation and the room I stayed in was clean, warm, and comfortable. If you’re looking for a budget hotel that offers good prices and doesn’t mind losing amenities of a higher class hotel, then you will find this hotel a good place to stay. I stayed there for six days and it was comfortable and quiet.

I had a bad experience with this hotel today. I called to ask about my booking and the person who answered was rude. They told me not to call again, refused to give their name, and hung up when I tried to explain my question. It's unprofessional and makes me wary of trusting them for anything. (Incident happened just now, 11th of April 13:21)

Great location...extremely comfortable bed...shower needs doors rather than curtain as floor got absolutely soaked while in the shower....disappointed there was no kettle in the room...would have been nice to make a coffee when we got back to the room after being out sightseeing all day...

We stayed 5 nights here and found it to be very comfortable. This is a very modest hotel so it met our expectations. We were on the second floor so we did not have a lot of stairs compared to those upper floors. …

Pension Peters is not a luxury hotel but it doesn't charge luxury prices and is very clean with a good breakfast and very friendly staff.Interesting art work on the walks It is a family run hotel, now handed down from the parents to the daughters. I have used this hotel on my all too infrequent visits to Berlin since the early 90s and would always use it !

My husband and I stayed for three nights in a large corner room on the first floor (above the restaurant; there was some noise from patrons leaving late at night). …

Nice accommodation with excellent public transport connections in the west of Berlin. The staff is relaxed, friendly and helpful. Lots of restaurants in the vicinity. Try to get a room which looks to the backyard, we had a room to the Kantstrasse which was a bit noisy when we opened the windows during the night.

Our room was clean and the amenities were excellent. The breakfast foods were varied and delicious, especially the scrambled eggs. Charlie welcomed and advised us on our two day tour of Berlin. All of his recommendations were heeded which allowed us to have an excellent stay in Berlin. We will definitely stay at Pension Peters when we visit Berlin again.
