We checked in here today as part of a cycling trip (peace route) and we couldn't find anything negative. Hotel rooms very clean and functionally furnished. The staff is very friendly and helpful.In the evening we had dinner in the restaurant. But everything was right here. The schnitzel tasted delicious and was served very quickly… just great! The service was very attentive and super friendly!If we are here again we will stay and eat here again!Many thanks to the entire team at Hotel Alte Post and keep it up!Elke and Frank from Osnabrück

Catastrophic!Bad service and horrible rooms that take you back to the “youth hostel days”.We were invited to a wedding and our host saved rooms for us under his allotment. The wedding was supposed to start at 3 p.m., but check-in wasn't until 4 p.m. So it was agreed with the hotel that we could check in at 1 p.m. Actually pretty nice, we thought.When you arrive at the hotel you are greeted by dirty carpets, blocked ventilation in the bathroom and lumpy beds.Showering after a long drive is always a pleasure as long as there is warm water.There was no hot water. A technical defect as we were told, it would be taken care of.Nothing changed in the period from 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and we had to leave.The next morning we politely asked for goodwill or a small discount because warm water was expected. The employee spoke to her boss. According to the boss, this only happened because we checked in at 1 p.m. If we had been there at 4 p.m., the heating would have been fixed and we would have had hot water.It was clarified in advance, around 20 wedding guests came at 1 p.m., there was no warm water and a lot of them were very dissatisfied.Of course, mistakes can happen, but we don't understand being so inflexible and stubborn when solving a problem.The problem seemed to have been known in the morning. We would have liked clear communication and some accommodating behavior.So for €90 you get the 4 “C’s” of the German service standard:Disastrous roomsCold water (Before 4 p.m.)Broken bedsDisastrous service

My husband and I booked a double room as we were attending a friends wedding. In order to be able to check in before the wedding, we were offered to arrive early from 1 p.m. There was only cold water in the room when we wanted to get ready for the party. There was only brief information over the phone about restarting the heating, but the water didn't get warm some time later, so we had to take a cold shower. The room itself was more reminiscent of a youth hostel. Very sagging mattresses on a creaking slatted frame, embedded stains on the carpet, no garbage bags in the trash cans and facial tissues in the bathroom that looked like they had already been taken out and stuffed back in. When we checked out and asked for a discount for the inconvenience, a friendly employee called her boss. According to him, a discount would be impossible. We could have checked in early; if we had arrived at the normal time there might have been hot water. So we paid 90 euros for poor service and an old-fashioned room without hot water. Not recommended.

There was no hot water the two days we were there. When we reported the problem to reception, we were told they had to turn on the heating system first. Since the water was still ice cold an hour later, we had to take a cold shower.Also the next day: cold.There wasn't any kind of accommodation...The rooms are okay but I think at a price of €90 per night you can probably expect warm water.

Home-style restaurant with very tasty schnitzel, nice, attentive staff and a simple breakfast. Some scrambled eggs, salmon or warm (!) boiled eggs would improve it a bit...The rooms are ok, but the mattresses are way too soft and the cleanliness could be optimized a little, for example chairs that are totally stained and you don't even want to know what's on them...

Rooms are great, but mine was completely cold when I arrived.Parking spaces are also becoming scarce when operating a restaurant.Breakfast is small but OK.The restaurant offers plenty of choice and everything is delicious.The main street next door is currently being renovated

Never again!!!Hotel booked and confirmed via booking, but still no room available. On site you then hear that the hotel supposedly canceled it a week ago and that this is possible up to 48 hours in advance. It's probably unfortunate why the cancellation didn't arrive, but it can't be changed. You could take another hotel in Warendorf. Absolute impudence!

We were there today for Easter breakfast with 17 people. Extensive breakfast buffet including coffee specialties. Beautifully made, great value for money. Not a premium offer for the price, but muesli, salmon, jams, quark, water, juices, delicious rolls and bread, small cold cuts and a selection of cheeses.We liked it, everything wasn't so cramped, walker-friendly
