Simple, simple country hotel with good value for money. Here, too, you can see the staff shortage in the catering industry. The boss tries her best, but she can't be everywhere. The jungle almost grows into the room. The view from the parking lot is great.

Unbeatable price/performance ratio, friendly staff and manager in the hotel and restaurant, extremely dog-friendly people, good cuisine, clean rooms. Our group was missing a room where we could meet to talk and plan the next day, or watch football, one or the other Missed shampoo or shower gel in the bathroom, overall recommended, prices including a good breakfast.Unfortunately, you have to walk a bit through the town with your dog, or better drive, to get to a nice hiking trail so you can walk to the Main.

I was there for probably the third time. Accessibility is reasonable, rooms ok, although the walls are a bit thin. Clean, tidy, large parking lot. Less complications than with hotels in Kulmbach. Price very ok. Restaurant (same company) next door.

I spent a night in the Waldhotel with my grandchildren on our bike tour down the Main.It has a very nice and quiet location and offers a great view of Kulmbach.Rooms, dinner and breakfast were very good, as was the service.The staff and especially the boss were very nice.

We spent a very pleasant 3 days in the hotel and were very satisfied. The parking lot is large, the reception is at ground level, otherwise the rooms can be reached either 1/2 flight up or 2 floors down. If you live downstairs, you can also transport your luggage via the back entrance. We had several rooms to choose from and chose room 17 downstairs with our 2 small dogs. We didn't regret it, very nicely furnished and a large bathroom. The boss, Ms. Schelhorn, is very nice, knowledgeable and at the same time runs the inn just a few meters further up (with no days off) with a great kitchen. The breakfast room is very inviting and the breakfast is tasty and has everything you need with a good selection of fruit. The hotel is easy to reach by car and there are many hiking trails all around. Mainleuser train station can be reached in just 20 minutes on foot. For the summer, Mainleus has a very nice outdoor swimming pool and in the Mainaue recreation area there is a swimming lake with restaurants, here the family-run Kieswäsch is highly recommended. We would like to come back.
