First of all, you have to say that the restaurant is very old-fashioned. So you shouldn't expect modern facilities and newly renovated rooms, which isn't a problem in itself. Unfortunately, my cell phone wasn't charging (I can't say why), which meant that it went off during the night and I didn't have an alarm clock. I then woke up around 2 p.m. So far so good.A short time later the cleaner knocked and asked what the situation was with us. We apologized several times and said we would need another 30 minutes. This was answered with a “All right, I’ll pass it on to the boss.” perceived that way.However, when it came time to pay, we were charged for an additional night because the cleaning staff had already left and we could no longer book the room that day...!So sorry... is it asking too much for the cleaner to tell us that we have to leave immediately, otherwise she wouldn't be able to get the room ready and we would have to pay for another night. That wouldn't have been a problem at all! We had already packed everything the day before and could have left straight away, but apparently they were quite happy with our situation and simply sent the cleaner home and essentially charged us twice the price.There is absolutely no friendliness and service here.That's really a pity!I would also like to add here that I am fully aware that the mistake itself came from our side, as we were unable to meet the checkout time due to oversleeping. However, they could have simply pointed out to us what was going on. That was really very disappointing!But at least there is parking right outside the door. There is an additional star for location!

Nightmare on a journey through timeRooms of horrorThe rooms are a journey back in time to the 60s. The carpets are stained and musty. The beds creak with every movement, as if they were about to collapse. The mattresses are so worn out and the windows are so dirty that hardly any daylight comes in!Service? None!Breakfast consists of warmed-up rolls and stale coffee - a horror.Please just close this place!

I was here on the 18th wedding anniversary. And I have to say, I was more than satisfied.The food was great, the best thing for me was the Sakat buffet.I will 100% come back.

We ate at Franken Hof because we were in Thurnau. Wonderful cuisine with local dishes at fair prices. The menu had a good selection. Every dish was accompanied by a salad from the buffet. The restaurant was clean and tidy.

We had food here, it was extremely tasty and the service was initially reserved but extremely nice. Absolutely recommended!

Very, very tasty food and great service! We felt totally comfortable!

Thurnau is a really nice place. Great atmosphere in the town center, old buildings, the castle and the potteries, Thurnau is worth a visit.
