For dinner in the restaurant:We ordered a Hugo and a homemade iced tea.Got a Hugo and a summer spritzer.. was not exchanged. The food was a disaster... I ordered a schnitzel with spaetzle... the schnitzel looked like a frozen schnitzel and tasted like one and was dry. I specially ordered without sauce and still got one that tasted like ready-made sauce. The spaetzle was tasteless and like a mess on the plate…I then had to wait about 25 minutes until I could pay after I asked twice. The summer spritzer was included on the bill, which we didn't order, it was more expensive than the iced tea we wanted... to change this the waitress said we had to call the boss... I finally just paid because I didn't feel like it because I had to pay 1-2€ again to wait forever...I ate there 3 times…the first, the only and the last time...!

We booked 1 room here at the country hotel for 3 nights. The booking itself was problem-free.Check in:Check-in from 4:00 p.m.! We arrived at 3:45 p.m. after almost 500 km and were lucky that a cook who happened to be there told us by phone. A room key was given after consultation with the owners.Hotel complex:The term “complex” already indicates that the hotel is spread over several connected buildings. In the center there is a small, cozy beer garden under vine leaves for the restaurant business. We only discovered the access to the hotel's own parking lot on the second day.Restaurant:We ate here twice in the evening. It was very crowded on the evening we arrived and if we hadn't been there early, we wouldn't have been able to find a seat in the beer garden. We had a delicious pan schnitzel with sauce and spaetzle, as well as Schupfnudeln with sauerkraut (although the sauerkraut predominated here). The next evening we both ordered a Swiss sausage salad with cheese. Unfortunately the cheese was missing. When I asked the waiter, they said it was the salad we ordered. Only after speaking to the boss did the misunderstanding clear up.Room:Our room was on the ground floor of the main building. We were lucky because of the high outside temperatures. It was reasonably cool and the fan in the room did its job.The room and bathroom were big enough and really clean. The bed was comfortable.Breakfast:We are active vacationers, which means we were always at breakfast by 7:30 a.m. at the latest. Even at that early hour, for example, there were only leftover scrambled eggs left. The uncovered jam jars were colonized by clouds of fruit flies. From the second morning onwards there were only sticky multigrain and saltless pretzel rolls. When asked, they said they hadn't made it to the wholesale market. The "boss", who was the only one present, preferred to have breakfast himself, read the newspaper, watch the TV that was always on, rather than fill up something or clear tables that had already been eaten. That was a bit sad.Location:In itself a beautiful location, barely 100 m from the Neckar. Unfortunately, Haßmersheim is otherwise a rather dead place. Conclusion:Clean, good room in a hotel that otherwise doesn't keep what it promises. We wouldn't book here again.

Overall, my stay at this guesthouse was a mixed experience that had both positive and negative aspects. This guesthouse may be suitable for travelers who are looking for simple, rustic accommodation and do not have high expectations. However, if you place more value on comfort and service, you might be disappointed.**Arrival and first impression**The first problem became apparent upon arrival: the entrance to the guesthouse was difficult to find. There was no company logo or prominent sign indicating the entrance. The entrance was rather hidden and without GPS I would probably have spent longer searching. The angled layout of the building didn't exactly help with orientation. However, the guesthouse's garden was a small bright spot. Although it was overgrown and seemed a bit untidy at first glance, there was also something rustic about it. The vines that climbed over the walls and fences gave the garden a certain romance and a touch of nostalgia. For garden lovers who like wild plants, this garden could definitely have its charm.**Check-in and reception**Check-in took place in the guesthouse's restaurant, which was unusual in itself, but not a problem. What was negative, however, was the reception. He was extremely cautious and not very cordial. You felt like you were more of a burden than a welcome guest. The employee who received us seemed disinterested and did his job without a smile or a kind word. A short explanation of the conditions or guidance on finding a room would have been helpful, as the building, as already mentioned, is a bit winding.**The room**Unfortunately, the room was another point that did not meet my expectations. There was no access to natural light in the lower part of the room as there was no window. Instead there was just a fan to provide some air circulation. This gave the room a very depressed and cramped atmosphere. Especially in summer, when temperatures rise, a window that provides fresh air would have been very desirable. The room therefore seemed dark and somewhat uncomfortable. The bathroom posed another problem. The first time the door was closed, it fell out of its anchorage. Apparently the door had been broken for a while and it seemed like no one had taken care of it yet. This was not only annoying but also dangerous as the door could have injured someone if it fell out. The shower head was also broken, which made showering an uncomfortable experience. The water pressure was weak and the shower sprayed in every direction except where it was supposed to.**The food**The food served in the guesthouse restaurant was a disappointment. The portions were very small and I didn't think it was value for money. For the price I would have expected more - both in terms of portion size and quality. The taste of the dish was okay, but nothing special. Here I would have liked more care in the preparation and a better price level. Considering the rather small and simple guesthouse, it would have made more sense to either lower the prices or improve the quality of the food.**Service general**The service was generally okay, but nothing more. The staff were somewhat committed to ensuring their guests had a pleasant stay. There was a lack of friendliness and attention. The English-speaking waiter and the lady with the baby made a positive impression. More friendliness and commitment would have been desirable, especially in the catering sector, where contact with guests is more intensive.

Young friendly service. They were a big group. Some of them had to wait a long time for their food. The others had already finished eating. 3 meals were completely raw and absolutely not eaten. No other choice of dish was available. Not recommended!
