Very clean, good healthy food with creative vegan and vegetarian alternatives. Elevator available. Sher centrally located, 10 minutes walk to the main station. Reception manned 24 hours a day.The staff was particularly positive, extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful from the receptionist to the chef.I forgot an item of clothing that they sent to me without charge. 10/10 customer service!!

Professional staff, good breakfast, everything clean, central location, but catastrophic bed: mattress is covered with rubber, which cannot be removed, or the foam is directly underneath. The result: I didn't sleep well, I sweated, I got cold when the window was tilted, and now I have a thick neck in more ways than one! In other JHs I have slept on microfiber covers, which are much more sleep-friendly. Most of the time that I am in a hotel or a JH is filled with sleep, so a good sleep is the most important thing for me, here the JH Magdeburg has clearly failed.

Room extremely small for 4 people. Almost no space to walk within the room. You also share a bathroom and shower with another room.

One socket for 4 people, dirty dishes and poor hygiene when eating. Moderately nice staff but ok WiFi. A 4-bed room consisted of a double bed and two bed boxes placed next to it, so that in the end there was maybe 1 square meter left. The rooms in the pictures listed by the youth hostel do not even begin to correspond to reality and are far from the lower standard that one enjoys here. Too bad...

I had a renovated twin room on the 5th floorSingle use. The staff was very friendly. The dinner and breakfast were great. All in all, I was very satisfied and would like to come back. I parked at the Fürstenwallstrasse car park on the banks of the Elbe.

HORRIBLE AND DISGUSTING!!!!!!! The first thing that greets you when you open the door to your room is a smell consisting of urine, mold and vomit. After this nice greeting, the hell of a room in which you have to spend the night is revealed. The walls were half paint half mold, the bed was hard and under the paint there was a fight between unidentifiable stains and spiders. We would have loved to sleep on the floor. But that didn't work either because there was a mattress made of dust and leftover food. The power supply also proved to be a challenge, with only one socket (half falling out of the wall) in the far corner of the room. But why do you need electricity if your cell phone has neither internet nor reception in this dummy bunker. If you somehow manage to escape into the land of dreams, you may well be torn away from it by loud teenagers. With cardboard as walls, this is no surprise. Not even the bathroom offered privacy. Because it wasn't uncommon for your neighbors to stand in the hallway when you went to the bathroom (which you can't reach from the room). That's why it could happen that strangers used the bathroom. It remains to be seen whether this would harm the strangers or us more. Because the mold in the shower was more than enough punishment for the intruders. The food looked so suspicious that I wasn't sure what kind of fruit I was being served here. It could have been anything from pineapple to strawberry. All in all, it was an experience that you wouldn't wish even on your worst enemy.
