1 p.m. “Lunch” in the Royal Court!? Greta Oto Closed for lunch. So to The Gold. No other guests (!). Very small bar menu. Order: 2x Caesar salad with side dishes. Served after about 30 minutes. Microscopic amount of dressing. Friendly request for more dressing. After asking twice, Salat is brought to the kitchen on the 9th floor for inspection. Then comes back - "a little nicely done" according to the service = leftovers pushed together in the middle of the plate. Plus an extra portion of sauce. Explanation: "The dressing sometimes runs through" (=to the bottom of the plate). Further comment/apology/reheating the put up chicken breast? None. Bill: 2x juice and 2x salad = 95 E. Conclusion: “Luxury”?? Lots of room for improvement.

Highly recommended!This was the second time I was a guest there. Nice welcome, very stylish rooms and there was even an upgrade when we returned, which made us very happy!The staff is very attentive and friendly at all levels. The hotel is clean and I like the location. What I can note positively: It recently took a little longer to locate my stored suitcase, but I was offered water and, when the suitcase arrived, there was a bar of chocolate for me while I waited - these are exactly the little gestures I like appreciate.What's also great is that the bathroom is really separate and is separated from the rooms by a solid door! The architect took that into account, thank you for that!Or are there really hotel guests who find it erotic when you can watch and hear your partner through frosted glass?! Well, I certainly don't and I avoid hotels like that.

I recently stayed at the Hotel Koenigshof in Munich. The architecture and an excellent view of the Karlstor am Stachus and the city center behind it from the terraces of the café (3rd floor) and the bar (9th floor) are impressive. The location on Karlsplatz is ideal for reaching public transport or on foot to reach the city center (pedestrian zone) and other sights. The staff in the restaurant (breakfast), reception and concierge were very friendly and attentive.Note: It would be nice if room service didn't start cleaning the rooms until after 4 p.m. Likewise, the staff in the café could pay a little more attention to the guests.

I find checking in on the 3rd floor extremely impractical. Then get back into the elevator. I was very disappointed. I first called to have the floor cleaned. The dust flakes came towards me. The carpet on the bed will continue to fluff forever. Impossible for me as a dust allergy sufferer. I haven't checked the function of the many light switches. Too complicated. There's a huge TV in front of the bed with a foot that you trip over at night. Pitch dark. There is no hanger for towels in the bathroom. Who actually plans something like that? The bar wasn't great either.Won't be my hotel. Still, good luck.

A big compliment to the entire team! The staff are not only incredibly friendly, but also really go the proverbial extra mile for their guests. We had ordered a special wine from the wine list that the location did not have in stock at the time. But instead of simply offering us an alternative, the employee did everything in his power to organize exactly this wine for us. He actually stood with us for a short time with the bottle we wanted - an absolute wow moment! Such service has rarely been experienced. Thank you very much for that and gladly again

Stayed in early Oct 2024. Extremely quiet room: I could not hear any noise from the street (which is a busy one) or neighboring rooms at all. Better noise insulation than other Luxury Collection, Ritz Carlton, St. Regis etc. hotels I have stayed at. At the point I stayed, the hotel was brand new and in pristine condition.The service was great as well, I have no complaints. My Marriott Nightly Upgrade Award cleared to a Grand Junior Suite, and the free breakfast with my platinum status was excellent and included the buffet and full service to-order food and beverages as well (the breakfast is also on the top floor with a good view). Additionally, the minibar items were all included for free (not typical of hotels in this class!)Location: it’s a short walk to the main train station, a short walk to the historic core, and ~20 min walk to Oktoberfest grounds.Overall, compared to other hotels in the same class I have stayed at (Luxury Collection, Ritz Carlton, etc.), I would rank this hotel highly.

Be very careful with this hotel, they took 1079 euros “by mistake” for the incidentals which was supposed to be like 300 euros and I had several meetings with the manager who said it has been immediately refunded and sent back but this was not true. CHERRY ON THE TOP was that my friend left money on her bag very well counted and while we were out someone took 1000 euros from her backpack. Some female employee was rude, they never pick up the phone on the reception, service is horrible, waiting for more than one hour for a simple order etc. NOT WORTH THE PRICE. THE MANAGER HANI MOHAMMED WAS JUST PRETENDING HE REFUNDED MY STOLEN MONEY TO MY CARD BUT THE FUNDS NEVER CAME BACK, SCAMMERS BE CAREFUL!!!

From a distance, viewed from the Karlstor, the architectural design of the building appears to be very successful. Up close, one wonders whether a little more courage in the color design of the façade would have broken up the slight uniformity of colors between the Palace of Justice, the former Kaufhof building and the Hotel Königshof, and whether this ensemble of buildings could have developed a more exciting relationship with one another. It is also a question of personal taste whether you find the internal hollowing in the foyer up to the upper floors to be extremely exciting or whether, as is the case with us, a certain level of perplexity sets in. Especially since the architectural design has the personally perceived disadvantage that the actual reception takes place on the upper floor. However, we find the positioning of the restaurant "GRETA OTO Munich" at almost maximum height and the view over Munich possible as a result attractive. Latin American-inspired cuisine is offered here. We also don't understand why this view was withheld from guests at the bar on the same level, and since the bar, with one exception, only offers seats at the counter, it is not worthy of such a hotel. A commendable exception when the temperatures are warm are the outdoor seats on the terrace, which also offer a possible view over the city of Munich. We really like the design of the rooms. In a discreetly modern design, muted colors predominate, which together create an atmospherically successful mood. When booking a room, we recommend paying careful attention to the optimal location in the building. Those with a view of Karlsplatz are to be preferred, and the view towards the Palace of Justice could also be attractive for lovers of historical facades. Our verdict is somewhat more reserved for the rooms that face Sendlinger Tor, and the rooms at the back have a view of the nearby, emaciated building of the former Hertie department store. Given the similar prices quoted for these rooms, we could imagine that some guests may find them too high.

Overwhelming luxury hotel with a view of the Stachus... I've only known the day bar as a guest... But I really like the view, the service and the unobtrusive atmosphere and peace and quiet!! Wonderfully everything tone on tone and gold... Very exclusive...

Overall everything you could hope for in a luxury hotel, especially during peak Oktoberfest weeks. New hotel with gorgeous finishes, ideal location within walking distance to Oktoberfest and immediately next to the train station. The staff was beyond attentive, particularly Fabian who guided our group to the Oktoberfest table at Augustiner-Keller and was an excellent host. Several other concierge staff members were also wonderful at booking and rebooking airport transfers when our flight moved up to a 5am departure. The 9th and 3rd floor bars have wonderful views and are very relaxing with excellent service as well. We’ve stayed at Sofitel for previous Oktoberfest and preferred the smaller scale and service here. Only small downside is the rooms can be quite dark and one bedside plug was taken by the phone so you had to unplug to charge.

A chic new building, located directly on the Stachus. Architecturally on the (visual) axis with the Karlstor, in an extension of the pedestrian zone and the facade is modern, but with a subtle color, in line with the adjacent courthouse. :-)
