Very nice DAV hut suitable for families. But from September you have to expect snow. It's good that you can get to the Berggasthaus Bleckenau by bus transfer. After consulting with the landlord, a slightly earlier return journey was possible. It was also positive that you can park at a discount in the P2 parking lot.

Very much enjoyed the hut with its beautiful surroundings. Would love to come back to discover the rest, but for a little longer instead of. 2 nights. Bring your own food and drinks, including coffee. It is also useful to have extra coffee filters, rinse aid, (baking) butter and dishwashing liquid with you. There was a lot there now, but having it with you is always good. Add some extra tea towels and your accommodation is complete. Until next time, already looking forward to it!!!!! ;-)

Nice location, beautiful and clean cabin with good rooms. The friendliest cabin steward, who welcomed us and created a good atmosphere for everyone. Perfect with self-service drinks 👍🍻🏔️ We recommend many times and look forward to visiting the cabin again!!

The hut impresses with its fantastic location. It is easily accessible for everyone - hikers, cyclists and by public transport. It is suitable for all ages. Super clean and we didn't miss anything. It was good for us not to be online for a while. The hut and the surrounding area are WiFi free and surrounded by poor network.It is a good starting point for short and long hiking tours.What we really liked was the first class service. It feels so good to feel completely at home at the reception. We had the feeling we had known each other for a long time. Thank you dear hut hosts, keep it up. We'll definitely be back.

Very nicely located, clean and well-maintained alpine hut for self-catering. Barbecue facility and fully equipped! cozy guest room. Unfortunately, the showers are only cold (approx. 10 degrees), but they have a corresponding adventure feeling.

Many thanks to the entire hut team for the years of uncomplicated and pleasant cooperation. We always enjoy coming to this wonderful self-catering hut with our experiential education courses. It offers an ideal starting point for our multi-day hikes in the Ammergau and Allgäu Alps!

The cabin is great and well equipped. However, the hut warden was very unfriendly. I wouldn't come with this hut warden again. I would definitely give the hut itself 5 stars, but I have to deduct two or even three stars because of the hut warden.

Beautiful, renovated DAV hut with the possibility of staying overnight etc. Unfortunately a bit out of the way, but a central location for climbers or ski tourers. Nice hut landlord :)

We spent a weekend with friends in this house and we had the best time. The kitchen has a lot of utensils, and the common spaces are very good. The rooms are sober but not lacking in anything. The only negative point is that when you leave you have to do the cleaning yourself... in any case: the area is amazing, highly recommended!

We rented the entire cabin for 4 days. A good starting point for extended hiking tours, mountain bike trips and just to relax. The house has a barbecue area and a spring behind the house. Only the same ice-cold water flows in the bathroom. But that is not an obstacle for alpine enthusiasts. The kitchen is fully equipped, all you need to take with you is food and a little dishwashing liquid. The stove and the tiled stove heat well with wood and it gets cozy and warm downstairs. The beds are more mattress bunk beds all next to each other divided into several rooms. Sufficient for resting. There will be no luxury nights. I can only recommend a climb to Säuling (2047m). The path starts directly behind the house. The climb from Hohenschwangau can be done very well by bike. (Attention: restricted route at Neuschwanstein Castle. Pay attention to cycle paths, otherwise dangerous tourist bus traffic.) On foot, the route can also be combined with a beautiful hike. After about 2 hours you should be at the top. (I did it in 45 minutes with my racing bike and 25kg of luggage.) If you don't want to do all that, you can take the Bleckenau bus from the Touri Info to the Bleckenau Hut and walk the remaining 250m.
