Room:Depends on whether you get a renovated one or not.A supervisor had a renovated room with us (the shower was still moldy), but the rest of the rooms were unfortunately very dirty. There were still a few socks in the closet from a previous resident.There was a sink in the room.Since the building is very noisy, earplugs are recommended, and perhaps also a sleeping mask, as curtains do not provide good darkening.Sanitary facilities:Toilets were clean, toilet paper and soap available.Showers, however, were a horror. Lots of dark mold. Be sure to take flip flops with you!Service:Everything was fine. 👍Eat:I found it very good. Also vegetarian selection. But vegan could be difficult.Location:Very good, bus stop 2 minutes away.

We had a twin room for dad and son. Shower and sink in the room, toilet in the hallway.It was pleasant that the hallway of the family room was separate from that of the group room. So it wasn't too loud.The furnishings are neither fancy nor new, but are fully functional.I found the staff at reception to be very friendly and helpful.Potential for improvement: Fly screens on the windows instead of the notice that mosquitoes should not be swatted at the wall. And more than one socket per room.Tip: bring multiple plugs!

There is no shower in the rooms, which is not necessary in a youth hostel, but there is also no toilet in the four-bed rooms. There are also a total of 3 sockets in the rooms for four people, one of which is hanging on the sink.

Last school year 2023/24, my classmate, I and the class teacher were there for 3-4 days. The staff was very nice, but there were also a few incidents where my "neighbors" across the street made a noise and my small group of friends & I got into trouble. Where I was speechless. But otherwise, food was great, both breakfast and dinner/dinner. Recommended for those outside Berlin. (Like it was for me)

The rooms were more modernly furnished than I know from other youth hostels, although they could be cleaner.Breakfast was good, I would eat out in the evening. The location is great, buses and trains in the immediate vicinity, enough restaurants, etc.

Good youth hostel in a mediocre location. The rooms are clean and tidy. Only the breakfast can be improved. The vegetable spreads don't taste particularly good and the juice is far too sweet.

We stayed in the youth hostel for 2 nights and weren't expecting a luxury holiday, but despite having little expectations we were quite disappointed. The building looks absolutely run down and unfortunately there is a common thread running through it inside.The showers are full of mold from top to bottom. There is no soap or towel dispenser in the men's room. There is no hot water in the women's shower. Supposedly after letting the water run for 10 minutes it gets warm.The rooms are ok in size. Windows also full of mold. Clairaudience without end. I had a stubborn child in the next room, which robbed me of my sleep. I thought the child was lying right next to me. Until midnight you can simply walk into the building and directly into the room area. Personally, I don't find it that inspiring in the middle of Berlin.I think the breakfast was OK.However, the staff was nice. Bus leaves right around the corner.

The central location makes the place interesting. Toilet and shower are shared. Table football and billiards are chargeable. You can buy ice cream and soft drinks. The juices at breakfast taste artificial, the coffee and cocoa are ok, and there is a good selection of tea. Fruit, cheese, sausage, jam, everything is available. Unfortunately, eggs are only available hard-boiled.

Slept here for 4 days at a school trip, at first as soon as I entered it looked fine. But then I entered the dorm area and it smelled like rotten eggs. All 4 days. Then I entered my 4 man room in the girls dorm, it looked okay but then I lifted my mattress and there were NOODLES?? Like they don’t clean this place at ALL.

Unfortunately it seems very run down overall. In the dining room, someone collapsed on their chair during breakfast, the bed linen is broken, and the hallways look like a construction site.Of course, I don't expect luxury from a youth hostel, but it should definitely be intact and clean. By far the worst stay in a youth hostel for me.The breakfast was ok

We have been there with our class to date and have been completely satisfied, I cannot understand the negative reviews. We are in the middle of Berlin, everything is easy to reach by bus and subway. The rooms are clean and the size is perfectly fine. The man at the reception ensures peace and quiet in the evenings and at night. The breakfast includes a good selection. We will also come back with our next class

Good day dear DJH service team,Unfortunately, my Berlin experience was ruined by this hostel! Even after 3 weeks in familiar territory, I get shivers down my spine when I think about this accommodation.On the day of arrival I was pretty exhausted as I had driven 6 hours. When I finally entered the hostel I saw the first of many thorns in my oculus (eye). It smelled deeply of armpit excrement. And an extremely outdated interior design. This was a real torture for my passionate sculptor's heart. My mood was low.I picked up my keys (yes, there really are still keys there) and played around for a while until I figured out how keys work again.To this day I try to forget the first look into the room. Dirt and mold everywhere with every glance. And then should I make my own bed?! However, I saw the most disgusting thing afterwards: A HAIR!!! Disgusting.It was already relatively late so my next stop was the canteen. There was spaghetti with vegan bolognese. If you can even call it that. The spaghetti was unsalted and the sauce was similar to soup. There wasn't much choice to drink and none of them were delicious.After the wonderful trip to the Brandenburg Gate, during which I was a bit run down, I was once again disappointed. I visited the shower with an open mind and felt sick to my stomach. After a while I climbed under the shower. The shower faucet is difficult to control. However, I was lucky: I had a private shower. My comrade who used the public showers reports:"The showers (on the fourth floor), which were equipped with ridiculous 19th-century hinges (doors), were functional. However, it is quite possible for peeping toms to see buttocks due to the lack of coverage of the shower operator."Night came and I went to bed. However, I couldn't relax because children were doing mischief in the hallways and screaming into the cold night. The duvet and sheet were scratchy.My sleep ended abruptly at 7am with more screaming.For breakfast there was dry bread and an egg.I don't recommend this accommodation to anyone who wants a nice vacation. Unfortunately Google forces me to give at least one star here. Berlin is still a beautiful city.LGa disappointed soul

Unfortunately, this is not the best accommodationI stayed here for exactly a month for a school trip. Unfortunately, as a companion, I don't know how much it costs per night with full board. The food actually wasn't bad. There is a fairly large selection, especially for breakfast. Unfortunately not the same for dinner, but still okay. The room is not very clean, but the staff takes out the trash at least every 2 days. Everything else you have to do yourself. The decor in the room is a bit strange, there is a shower, no toilet and no door, just a curtain. There aren't many sockets either, but okay for 2 people. What really bothers me is that there is no quiet time in the yard. During this stay I had to complain to reception five times that the people outside were too loud. Luckily the receptionists were very helpful. We also always had to leave the windows open to ventilate, but there are always bugs. Fly screens could be set up better. The WiFi sometimes doesn't work in the room, which is a bit annoying.

From the outside it reflects the same as it is inside. Very outdated. Rooms urgently need to be renovated. We have 2 sinks in the room for 5 people but the main thing is that we don't have our own bathroom. The plaster is falling off the ceiling and the wall and water is running out of the pipe in one of our sinks. We have 2 sockets that we have to share between 5t. Shared showers leave a lot to be desired and some cannot be locked.The only positive thing is the location. But that's actually it

Love at second sight: at first something bothers you about the sober building, the strange laminated tablecloths, the smell in the stairwell and the wedged fire door. But then come the advantages: a super friendly chef, the great location with perfect bus connections and the spacious inner courtyard.

I would like to express my disappointment about my stay at the hostel. Because of the many positive reviews, I had quite high expectations. Unfortunately I was disappointed. I found hair in my spaghetti dish, the bathrooms were not properly maintained and had an unpleasant smell. In addition, the bed linen was unfortunately dirty and uncomfortable to sleep on.What I found particularly regrettable, however, was the way the staff treated me and my family. We were not treated kindly, which further detracted from our experience. Overall I'm really disappointed with our stay.
