Highly recommended. We really enjoyed our experience staying in a junior suite. The room was huge and very comfortable. All the staff made sure we were very welcome. The taps were a bit fiddly to get the hang of but fine once you work out how they work. The breakfast was great but did seem a little disorganised during busy periods. We ended up having to wait a while to get someone's attention to get us coffee and order eggs. We would have much preferred self service so weren't having to rely on staff, who were definitely doing their best. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. The location is great. It's a short walk to the zoo and close to a big park which was perfect for an evening run. The area definitely felt safe to walk around and was close to public transport. They have a gym, which was small but good enough for a cardio workout.

Located adjacent to Berlin's beautiful Tiergarten, this hotel was formerly the Danish Embassy. You know how some hotels try hard to make you think the place is chic? Das Stue doesn't have to try -- it is totally fabulous. It just is. …

One of my favorite hotels in Berlin! The food at Causal is always very tasty and the dishes are seasonally well selected and of high quality. I can recommend the extremely delicious truffle fries!

From the moment we walked in, we were treated like family. It has a fantastic location in a quiet, easy-to-walk place. We were so blown away when an ostrich walked in the window behind the bar. The hotel backs up to the zoo, and they use that as a very cool motif.

The service doesn't even deserve 1 star. If I can give 0 stars I will give 0. The people at reception are incredibly understanding, I find it hard to believe that they didn't do it on purpose!!! When we ask for an invoice, they put 1 line for tourist tax. 🙃 very innovative, full of imagination! Who has ever seen an invoice with a single VTA line? These people are incredible. After several reminders, the second invoice contains the deposit with a negative value (what a surprise! What a spirit of innovation! 🙃) the reception work would not allow you to fully realize your imaginations to do xxxx to customers. To flee!!!!!!!

It’s unbelievable what i experienced. I paid the room online and finally pay the city tax at my check out. Then i check out this morning and ask the reception to send me the invoice, but it was funny, they sent me an invoice only with city tax what i paid this morning….i can not really believe how a 5 stars hotel’s has so poor understanding to this normal request. Then, i go back again and told them the invoice was wrong, please send me again, they said they will send it right now! But after 1h i didn’t receive anything, obviously they forgot. So i called the reception and ask the invoice, they sent it finally once again. But the funny thing happened again, it was a invoice for my deposit 200€, nothing more…..how could a 5stars has such bad comprehension? Then i called them again, asked the 3rd time, finally they sent me the correct invoice, i lost plenty of time just to got this invoice, ridiculous! One more thing, their reception is difficult to reach, always need to call and wait long time and nobody picked up the phone. I guess for those call today i waste at least 1h!!!I am sorry to complain about my experience, but this shouldn’t be a 5stars hotel service…

Formal Complaint Regarding Inappropriate Behavior by Communication ManagerDear S/O Berlin Management,I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding the behavior of your communication manager who was on duty yesterday evening. Our group had booked a table as part of a women’s workshop, and unfortunately, we encountered several issues that made our experience far from pleasant.Firstly, despite our reservation, the table was not booked for the correct time, which caused inconvenience right from the start. However, the more concerning issue was the inappropriate and intrusive questions posed by your communication manager. He questioned the nature of our group, asking why it consisted only of women, and insinuating that we were not inclusive. This line of questioning was completely inappropriate and out of line. Our group is a safe space for women, and while we welcome queer individuals, we do not include men in our events, as this is integral to the nature of the space we provide. Quite frankly, it is none of his business to question or challenge our group’s policies.Furthermore, throughout the evening, this individual continued to behave in a hostile and unprofessional manner. He prevented us from taking photos, despite the fact that when we inquired with his colleagues, we were told that it was completely permissible and that we could even tag the hotel on social media. It was clear from his actions that he took our group as a personal issue, treating us in an unacceptable and discriminatory manner. As the photographer for the event, I found his lack of cooperation particularly frustrating. Instead of offering flexibility or support, he insulted my professionalism, telling me I hadn’t been working long enough in my field to know what I was doing. His comments were not only disrespectful but completely unnecessary, especially when I have never encountered such behavior in any other venue, including during a recent event at the Ritz, where the staff were accommodating despite a packed venue. At the end of the evening, even his own colleagues acknowledged his behavior and expressed their dislike for him. While we appreciated the complimentary drinks and desserts they offered, no one should have to deal with a staff member who bullies and mistreats guests. It is deeply troubling that someone with such an unprofessional attitude is allowed to represent your hotel. We hope you will address this issue seriously, as it reflects poorly on the otherwise good reputation of your hotel. We trust that you will take appropriate action to ensure future guests are not subjected to similar treatment.
