Backeshof

We were very satisfied with our family vacation here. There is a lot for children to discover and play with. From the holiday farm you can easily explore the Trier region. We found our holiday here very nice. (Experience from 2015)

We had a wonderful holiday on the farm with our grandchildren. Some things are getting old and need to be renovated, but that was made up for by the hospitality of the Schneider family. Everything was explained in detail to our grandchildren, they were allowed to milk cows, ride pony rides and take a ride on the tractor and had great snacks. All in all, a very successful holiday on the farm.

Small but nice family-run farm. Perfect for families with children. The hosts are very nice and helpful.We were satisfied and will come back. The proximity to Trier is also great.

We spent a wonderful 6 days on the Backeshof with our granddaughter. The apartment was spacious and nicely decorated. Nothing is missing. The hosts and their family members are very warm and take great care of their guests. We can only recommend this farm. Swimming pool, mine and beautiful hikes nearby provide variety.

We had 5 lovely days on the Backeshof with our small children (almost 2 and almost 4). Excursion options in the area, especially in bad weather, are limited, but not absolutely necessary. The farm itself offers a lot to discover and keep busy. You can move freely around the site and look over your shoulder during many activities or even help yourself (milking, collecting eggs, giving milk to calves, etc.). Pony rides are also offered. There is also a games room/common room in the house for rainy days.All the people on the farm are very friendly and Lena in particular showed a lot of patience with the children. The other holiday guests were also very friendly.We had the feeling that all the animals were doing very well. All approximately 200 cattle have a name, most of which were given by holiday guests after birth.The guest house is separate from the Schneider family's home. It's quiet. There is a playground with swings, slides and sandpits within sight and baby monitor earshot.Apartment 1 is very large, the kitchen is adequately equipped and lovingly furnished. The beds could be a little more comfortable (in the children's room only boards instead of slatted frames and thin mattresses, the double bed groans with every movement and gave me back pain the first few nights). A fly screen or two on the window wouldn't hurt either.Unfortunately, some of the things advertised weren't really usable (table football, billiards) and you'll also look in vain for the goats and rabbits listed on Landsichten.de. Apparently the information there hasn't been updated in ages. In the playroom there are some books for young and old and a few Lego bricks. In addition, don't get angry, chess, nobody is perfect and a quiz). In my opinion, there is still a lot of room for improvement here so that you can keep busy even in rainy weather.In Farschweiler there is an Edeka market about 2km from the farm that offers everything you need. However, you have to pay attention to the opening times here. Closed on Saturday afternoons, but may be open on Sundays and public holidays.

The whole Schneider family and employees are so welcoming and treated our children aged 7 and 9 very warmly, answered all their questions and always encouraged us to help. Milking cows, feeding calves, getting eggs from the stable and much more, the children were always warmly involved. The location is also really nice, the apartments are well equipped and clean!!! We will definitely come again!!!

We are very happy with this trip! It was one of the best trips!! The children had a lot of fun, there is always something to do here. Great stay, thank you Schneider family!

Farm holidays - here the whole family will find peace, relaxation and experiences! A farm as you imagine it!As soon as we parked the car, we were greeted by the chickens 😁. A holiday on the farm can only be a good one!We spent five days on holiday at the very beautiful, family-run Backeshof, which were far too short and yet very eventful. It was a great experience especially, but not only, for the two boys (6+8). Where else can you have chickens, sheep, cows, calves, horses, ponies and the very friendly farm dog in such a "small" space!?Feeding chickens, calves and cows, riding horses, petting sheep, helping with milking, witnessing the birth of several calves,... This is possible on the Backeshof!We immediately felt at home in the spacious, clean apartment, which is equipped with everything you need.Particularly worthy of mention is the entire Schneider family and their employees, who were always available to answer any questions or requests.Here you not only have the feeling of being welcome, you are!!!Thank you for the great days!!!
