We were greeted very nicely and everything was explained to us. They reserved a parking space for us right on the water. The rolls were very tasty and the location is ideal for exploring Heidelberg. Less than 2 minutes to the bus stop and 10 minutes later you are at the old bridge. If we feel like going to Heidelberg again, we'll come back. The sanitary facilities were always clean, although not the most modern. But that's why you're a camper. For luxury you should go to the hotel.Keep it up.

The parking space was right next to the Neckar, 4km from the old town of Heidelberg. You can go directly by bus or by bike. The staff is very friendly and, upon request, I was able to stay on the site until 1 p.m. on the day of departure.

Rating for campsite “Alter Hain”⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3 out of 5 stars)The Weber family campsite has a lot of potential, but unfortunately it is clearly showing its age. The very friendly young operators are a big plus and strive to make the stay as pleasant as possible. Their friendliness and willingness to help are a large part of the charm of this place. However, there are some serious shortcomings that need to be urgently addressed. The sanitary facilities cannot be heated and do not meet today's standards. This can be very uncomfortable in the cooler months. In addition, the place's power supply is in a dilapidated state. The old and defective individual meters not only cause confusion, but also unreasonable costs. The flat rate seems rather high compared to the services offered and the infrastructure.Despite these shortcomings, the place has a lot of potential. With the right investments in sanitary facilities and electricity, the Weber family could become a real gem in the camping sector. I hope that the operators have the opportunity to further develop the course and make the necessary improvements. For now I would recommend the place because of the friendly operators and the beautiful location, but only if you are willing to overlook the existing shortcomings. I look forward to seeing how the Weber family develops in the future!

Typical river campsite on the Neckar, very friendly operating family who always felt approachable and also paid attention to loving details (the 'good morning' on the bag of bread rolls, for example). The sanitary facilities are outdated, but clean and functional. If you're traveling on a weekend, it's better to call/book in advance, as Heidelberg is very touristy and the space can fill up quickly. The few kilometers from the square to the old town can be easily used for a bike tour. However, regional local transport also stops directly at the CP.

The location directly on the Neckar is stunning. If - like us - you can stand independently, you choose one of the back spots in front of the tent area and then just enjoy the view. The sanitary facilities are actually a bit older, but clean.Supply and disposal are also available. The operators are very warm and are open to all questions. Bread service with pick-up time of your choice! So we were completely satisfied and would like to come back.

Very nice operators - sanitary facilities are a bit old but clean (better than modern and ugh). You are standing directly on the Neckar. Bus line 35 to Heidelberg directly at the entrance to the square. Travel time 15 minutes. Shopping within 6 minutes walk to Rewe. Pitch fees and drinks at the pitch must be paid in cash! We'd love to come back.

Nice place, old sanitary facilities (which were clean). However, a short-tempered/choleric young man who issues evictions when people are talking on the phone at the entrance.Other side of the Neckar has cheaper campsites with more modern sanitary facilities.Thank you

Camping directly on the Neckar! The welcome was very nice, everything was explained in detail. Bread service for the following day can be ordered until late in the evening (9 p.m. I think). Sanitary facilities are a bit old but clean. Were being cleaned when we arrived. We had electricity right on site, and there is supply and disposal at the front at the entrance. Fresh water is drawn from a very thick hose. It would be cooler if there was just a normal hose connection for Gardena, for example, hanging there that you could connect your own hose to. That would be more hygienic for everyone. Rewe just a few meters down the street and a bus stop right outside the door. There is a busy street in front of the door and on the other side of the Neckar. If you are very sensitive, you should sleep somewhere else. Of course it gets quieter at night. We would stand here again. :-)
