4 day club tour with 3 overnight stays...I don't know which hotel the guests were in who gave 5 star reviews here, but definitely not in this one!Look at the other 1 or 2 star reviews, that says it all: dirty, messy, worn and broken!

Rooms very old-fashioned. The new, renovated rooms are shown everywhere, but we got an unrenovated double room. Hair between the mattresses and in the toilet. Lots of rust in the bathroom. Furniture damaged, had water stains and flaws. The renovated rooms are attractive, the unrenovated ones are dreary and disgusting. We did not respond to booking requests. We were shown another room, but no improvement. We were told when we left: If you want to go, then go. I can't change that.Location is ok, but nothing special. Not recommended! Price had absolutely no relation to performance.

DO NOT book! Mold in the room!We arrived in the evening after the reception was closed and our room card was left at the bar. Other guests at the bar already gave us the tip that we should check whether our room was made, as three rooms were not made when we checked in. We then went to the room and immediately discovered black mold in the bathroom. That doesn't work at all. The window was open and the room was freezing cold. The service in the restaurant was also rather poor. The ladies didn't understand us at first because they didn't speak German. The next morning we wanted to visit the fitness studio. That was also an imposition. The entire facility was broken and you had to be afraid of hurting yourself while using it.The changing room was also extremely dirty. When we complained at check out, we didn't even apologize and were given €10 back. We'll never go to the hotel again. Even guesthouses with 0 stars are cleaner and friendlier.

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful hotel. We therefore give it a benevolent four stars. The rating is based on the hotel's very good location, right next to the forest, and the diverse offerings (spa, swimming pool, sauna, fitness room, bar, restaurant and well-equipped rooms with flat screens). I found the full metal toilet roll holders particularly original! Apparently it was a custom-made product!Anyone who wants to find a fly in the ointment will find it.For example, we didn't particularly like the coffee! On our first day we were brought a cappuccino from the bar. Unfortunately we were denied this service on the following days. We would also have liked a larger selection at the muesli buffet at breakfast. This was more like a children's muesli (lots of sweets). We would have liked more grains, such as linseed or sunflower seeds, as well as nuts. The offer was otherwise very extensive. There were mirrors, scrambled and boiled eggs, various types of sausage and cheese, ham, tea, juices, water, as well as vegan alternatives for spreads and lactose-free milk. The rooms are cleaned every four days, this was communicated beforehand in the information that was given to you. We were there for five days and didn't experience any cleaning. We got our own supplies of toilet paper.Unfortunately the bar was defacto closed on all days. As a result, we couldn't benefit from this great big bar. But when we asked, we got everything we wanted. Once we had coffee and cake brought to us and on two evenings I got drinks at the bar in the restaurant (first floor). There was no possibility of making coffee or tea in the rooms. Refrigerators used to be installed here, but they are no longer there. There are modern flat screens for this. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is the following to say about the region: it is a holiday region with a lot of leisure activities. Many people come here to ski or do the summer version of mountain biking! For many people from Western Europe, this region is often used as a winter sports region, as it is of course much closer than, for example, Bavaria! In Winterberg there are many very good restaurants, cafés and shopping opportunities as well as everything else you need.We were in the forest every day, you don't have to drive anywhere for that.If you need restaurant tips, you can read my other reviews.

The service (not the reception, because you hardly got any information there or was only told that it was only a 3 star hotel) was friendly and good. Also the offer within the hotel.Unfortunately, the room was so catastrophic that we felt disgusted and we left early. Since the room makes up the majority, the corresponding rating is given, regardless of what backlash there will be under this rating. You have to be able to do that as someone who exchanges performance and therefore quality for payment.

The hotel was clean and the breakfast was good. The room was adequate. Unfortunately no bathing suits to buy or rent. Instant coffee was missing in the room - it was provided. It wasn't delivered later either. …

Were there for a weekend. Food, service and wellness were good. Unfortunately the area around our room was very noisy. Elevator and stair use as well as room doors can be heard until late at night.

First of all: I'm surprised at some very negative reviews here and I can't understand them. If necessary: talking to each other helps! The beautiful Asten is a German 3 star hotel, nothing more - but nothing less either. As a family of five with two double rooms and an extra bed, we had a very nice time in beautiful Asten and can recommend it with a clear conscience. The hotel is very family friendly and the reception staff are very helpful and accommodating. A room change was carried out immediately and was unproblematic. The window in our room was initially tilted and therefore a bit cool - but well ventilated. However, the rooms warmed up quickly due to the heating. We really liked the wellness area with two saunas and a steam bath, both the size and the cleanliness. When the sauna wasn't running in the afternoon of the second day, this was implemented immediately after we commented, thank you! The light bulb in the sauna should be replaced soon, but maybe it's nicer if you don't see so much ;-) A water hose in the steam room would also be an advantage. The breakfast and dinner or buffet were rich, varied and tasted good to us all. The chef has a passion for delicious fish, great! Vegetarians are also taken into consideration. The rooms were clean with good beds, blankets, two pillows, TV, small table and everything else you need (hairdryer). Cleaning takes place every four days, which is completely fine for a 3 star hotel. In the evening we ended the day in the very nice bar. Paid billiards, darts (bar) and free table tennis (in the Kids Tobewelt near the swimming pool) can also be played. Some hiking trails start directly from the hotel. There is a Frisbee course next door in the forest. The Kappe adventure mountain with flyline, summer toboggan run, mini golf, bike park or the Astenkick are not far away and can be reached quickly by car or on a hike. The staff has made a great effort, although some employees speak very little or hardly any German and are probably therefore very shy. I can understand that and it wasn't a problem for us. A big compliment for the work done in (room) service! It seems like it is in many companies: Unfortunately, there is a lack of skilled workers and you can't just "bake" them. So you have to be a little patient. The main waiters, especially Ahmed and Pavel, worked at double speed and were always very friendly and attentive. Thank you very much!In a more luxurious and significantly more expensive hotel in Willingen, the service in May 2024 was comparable and not always a sure-fire success...Where are the hard-working and willing to learn young people in the hospitality industry with native German language skills? Migrated to the metropolises, or is this offspring an illusion? It was a very relaxing time for us as a family and we would love to come back! The price/performance ratio for our “autumn delights” was great and our three children were expressly welcome. Thumbs up! 👍
