Short-term cancellation by the hotel. Two rooms were booked and due to a broken bed they wanted to give us a room when booking for 4 people. What should I do with a room?The rooms were booked 6 months in advance and there was no solution from the hotel. This is how you imagine a gift for your 60th birthday, but now that all falls apart.

We were only passing through for one night, but we can warmly recommend the hotel and the restaurant. Sparkling clean rooms with nothing missing. The kitchen is very good and the entire complex is very nice and well maintained. We would be happy to come back at any time.

From the positive: quiet, despite the road under the windows, a place with a good location. Relatively clean, although you can find fault, there are moments, and relatively new furniture.From the negative: it was at the end of April, it was cold outside and it was also very cold in the room, and the battery was probably not cleaned, so it almost does not work - only a small part of it works, so it was only possible to heat the room on the third day. Also, the additional blanket turned out to be very tight - not worthy of use. It is necessary to either thoroughly clean it or replace it.

We booked the accommodation at booking.com and received confirmation along with reservation number and PIN. However the hotel was refusing the room at the booking.com price and initially offered a higher price. Due to a trade fair in Hannover (Agritechnica) alternative accommodations in the whole neighboring region were hard to find. This makes it also highly likely that the 'Hotel zum Böhmegrund" had better paying accommodation seekers at hand. It was so obvious, that the hotel first agreed to have the room available for a higher price, but then turned defensive to provide the room at the lower booking.com price. The hotel seemed very unhappy with the booking.com offer and started arguing. Within minutes the accommodation turned reserved since days for somebody. In addition the hotel was very unfriendly saying if I would show up they would not give me nothing, nor the room neither the keys and I would have to go away. Moreover, the hotel refused to even send me an email confirmation that the room was cancelled on the hotel's initiative and they would refund the amount paid. The man said he had more important things to do as he has to care for other guests and I would have to handle the cancellation on my own with the booking.com portal and see if and how I can phone booking.com. Never before, anything similar has happened to me. It is in fact extremely incorrect behavior to have offerings available, and refuse to fulfill contractual obligations purely because it is possible to make a few euro more that day. Any honnest client will be offended by this inaccurate business methods practiced by the hotel during peak times.
