- Small 3* hotel and not 4*- Old and declining hotel- Vacuum-packed breakfast and pre-cooked bread-Repackaging cheap food in small glass bowls- Coffee powder in undrinkable machine- Join Free Dreams but in reality you pay more- the prices are overpriced and there is no visual difference and m2 between the standard and luxury rooms.- 5.90 euros for 5dl of tap water at dinner, while we consumed alcoholic drinks and wine- do with low cost on the backs of customers-Bad experience and we were taken for pigeons.

We were on vacation for ten days and were satisfied. The dinner was very good and plentiful. The breakfast buffet was also good. The rooms were quite and clean. The service staff was friendly. The swimming pool is a bit small and the water is too cold for our standards.

My wife and I recently booked a vacation in the Black Forest and treated ourselves to the luxury of a 4-star hotel. Unfortunately the hotel could not meet expectations. It is incomprehensible why there is no alternative way to make coffee when the coffee machine breaks down. Unfortunately, when the machine was working, the coffee tasted like instant coffee. The baked rolls from the discount store were also not worthy of a 4-star hotel. Our conclusion: This is a 3-star hotel with friendly service.

I became aware of the hotel through my work colleague. My main aim was to take a little time out in the area and go cycling. Since I was a single person, an economy double room with a balcony was set up for me at a corresponding offer price.Room:As promised, I found a corresponding double room as a single room. The furnishings and bathroom weren't the newest, but they were completely sufficient for me and it was very clean! The only thing that bothered me was (probably) the air conditioning unit in the immediate vicinity, which started up irregularly and was particularly loud in the evening.Service:I received a very friendly welcome when I arrived and everything about the hotel was explained to me. (Sauna, swimming pool, where can I leave my bike, etc.). During my stay, the entire staff, whether it was the waitress or the boss, always had an open ear and was very polite to me. They also gave me some tips on places to visit in the area. The breakfast is sustainably designed, which I think is very good. The day before, you can decide which and how many rolls you want to eat or whether it can be a boiled egg, a scrambled egg or a fried egg. Breakfast is offered as a buffet. You can actually find everything you need for a hearty breakfast here. The coffee takes some getting used to (improvement is needed here), but the latte macchiato was okay. The offer also includes a cake time in the afternoon. I did not use this service. The dinner, which was included in the complete package, was available in three courses (starter, main course and dessert). For breakfast you could already decide between the individual menus. As a vegetarian, I always chose the salad as a starter, which you could get at a buffet. The main course and dessert were then served. The dishes were very tasty. I thought the mushroom risotto was really great! However, due to the fact that no outside guests came in the evening, the restaurant room gave me the overall impression that it had been designed exclusively for hotel guests and therefore did not have the flair of a classic restaurant. What I particularly liked was the swimming pool. Of course it was too small to do a few laps, but it was quite good for doing a few laps.Location:Altglashütten is not far away from Titisee and Schluchsee at around 1000m above sea level. The hotel is in a great location in town. From the balcony you have a view of the community and the hill behind it. From there you can quickly reach Lake Titisee (including Neustadt), Feldberg, Schluchsee and Todtnau. You can quickly get to Freiburg within an hour using public transport (the Konus card offered makes free travel on public transport possible). In addition to sightseeing opportunities, the corner also offers a well-developed and signposted network of routes for cyclists (no racing bikes). Gravel bikers and hardtail riders will find beautiful routes (on gravel) with a lot of elevation gain here. I also rode a few trails, but some things were denied once you were in the Feldberg nature reserve. We recommend a visit to the waterfall in Todtnau or the waterfalls in Menzenschwand.Overall, it was a nice and successful short vacation for me. Maybe I'll come back when the winter season starts and the many ski resorts in the area are open.
