I was in this dormitory for several weeks as a block student. After all the negative reviews I was pretty scared, but it wasn't that bad.First about food. We always got something, even if we were there shortly before the end. The dinner times are much too early, but if necessary you have the option of having something filled and put back. Most of the time it tasted okay. There are much worse dormitories in this regard. The educators, the people at the reception and most of the food ladies are pretty friendly. The room is okay. What I was missing were properly placed sockets. A bed has two pieces and then one each at the desk and sink. Unfortunately, the second bed doesn't have a single socket nearby.Unfortunately there is only one desk for two people. Pretty suboptimal for learning. There is a nice roof terrace and a few rooms for leisure activities. My biggest point of criticism, however, is the hygiene. When eating there are often dirty cutlery, dishes and glasses. And the communal showers/toilets weren't cleaned at all in our first week here, then rather sporadically after that. Very unfortunate.

Great time of my life spent here during my training. Thanks. I'm still raving about the feel-good atmosphere, the food, the camaraderie of the girls and the support of the teachers.

Breakfast very good, dinner can sometimes be improved but mostly it tastes very good, room and cleanliness is fine, prices are fair, location is great with good connections to the tram and subway station (Rathenauplatz) all the staff are always very friendly, human, attentive and helpful. 😇So far I have only had positive experiences at Marienheim. 🥰What I also think is great are the leisure rooms and activities offered as well as the in-house terrace.I can really recommend the Marienheim and I always feel very comfortable when I stay here.

I was here for 2 weeks as a block student. I felt very comfortable. The carers are all very, very nice. There is always someone there who is happy to help you. The food was very sufficient and surprisingly varied with new variations every day.

It is a dormitory, so it should be clear that the rooms are reduced to the minimum. There are shared showers and toilets, but everything is super clean. In my opinion, the rooms are also really nicely decorated.

Rooms are always very dusty and dirty on the floor. Unfortunately, the showers are usually full of hair and very dusty, so definitely shower in flip flops!!The worst thing, however, is the food, which starts at 4:45 p.m.! DINNER! If you don't show up there within half an hour you often don't get anything and vegetarians in particular suffer from this because it's usually the first to go, even though there are lists where you can sign up. Unfortunately, the portions are always very small, so you're usually hungry again by 6 p.m. and have to buy something else to really last until the morning. Other dormitories in Nuremberg manage to feed you until the morning with the same budget.A week is fine in the dormitory, but a 4-week block is pure horror, as you spend a lot of money on food but don't really get anything for it and usually have to buy it too. Not exactly advantageous as a trainee.Anyone who can avoid the Marienheim should do so.The only plus point is the location and a small number of nice staff.

I'm a block student here and I have to say everything here just annoys me. The people at the reception are mostly very friendly, with a few exceptions. Most of the staff at the food counter were really nice. BUT every time I'm put in a different room even though I've already said at least 3 times downstairs I'd like a single room or I'd like to be in a room with so and so. Then I'm put in a room with people who are actually total strangers to me. I also once had the case that the teachers in the house simply entered my room and talked about how the room should change while I was sleeping!!! Well, I didn't sleep anymore after that. Absolute impudence. And when you say downstairs you want to swap rooms, even if you come up with a solution that works, they always fuss and always want to know how and why and always try to talk back when you want to swap with someone. What I absolutely cannot understand. In addition, it is really difficult to find parking here because the Marienheim simply has too few parking spaces and they are always full. If I had the choice, I wouldn't want to go here. I won't recommend it either.LG
