Were here on New Year's Eve and had reserved the table for our group a few months ago. When we arrived, the waitress told us that almost all of the food was sold out. There were even no more fries for the children. Absolutely incomprehensible!

We were guests shortly before the change of employer. The restaurant was well attended as there were 2 companies and we were treated to other guests in the breakfast room. …

Luckily the tenant will change at the end of 2023! We had a service disaster today on Boxing Day: we had ordered 7 meals, the service person even repeated the dishes and recorded them in the cash register. When the food came, one was missing, which we complained about. The service person rushed into the kitchen and came back: sorry, the kitchen is already closed, you can have a tiramisu...!Which we declined because we wanted lunch. The great thing: the extra food was on the bill... And a beer that we ordered last (15 minutes), which we then refused because we wanted to pay and move on.The boss then apologized to us - but did not announce any "follow-up training/instruction in good customer service, etc" to the service staff. The drinks were waived as compensation... Nice move, but the pale aftertaste remains...

Great fun. Celebrated Christmas party, probably didn't know that 40+ people were coming, despite multiple feedback.Burnt cheese spaetzle. New portion burnt.Schnitzel from colleagues “is it too dark or is it still okay”. It was very dark.Goose breast fatty. With bones. Animal drowned in sauce. Red cabbage tastes identical to that from Lidl. (Praise to Lidl, tastes authentic)They weren't prepared. 2.5 hours waiting for food if you sat in the middle, left got it after 30 minutes, right still got it, 3.5 hours...Absolutely not recommended.

My wife and I spent a pleasant 2 day stay in Mengersdorf. The place is very small and very quiet, the estate is the highlight. …

Beautiful location for our wedding celebration with lots of taste and warmth! The food in the estate is sensational, the service is very accommodating and the rooms are an enchanting ensemble. We had booked the entire estate for our wedding celebration. The rooms were a beautiful setting for our wedding: the champagne reception took place in the idyllic upper beer garden. With around 50 guests there was room for congratulations, informal conversations and a musical serenade. The white vault also meant there was room to escape in the event of rain. The dinner with the main course as a buffet took place in the stylish and lovingly decorated ballroom. At the buffet, the service always made sure to bring food to guests who were not mobile. Afterwards you could dance in the white vault, and in the red vault next to it there was space for a table with the guest book, a prosecco bar and a photo box. The music from the white vault was audible here at a pleasant volume, so that conversations were possible. In the ballroom and the two beer gardens, guests who wanted to chat without music were able to chat in peace. The midnight snack with Franconian tapas and sour/blue zip was served in the ballroom. We and our guests felt comfortable in this warm and lovingly prepared atmosphere with the many options available. The food was consistently of very high quality (organic, regional). The chef's advice in advance helped us put together a suitable menu for our guests (Franconian, vegetarian, vegan). From a sophisticated regional fish plate / vegetable carpaccio to a Franconian wedding soup / carrot-ginger supper and the buffet (pike-perch, venison ragout, balsamic porcini mushrooms, very fine oven-roasted vegetables and Franconia meets Asia ...) to the sorbet as a dessert, everything was very well prepared and extremely tasty. The service and cuisine made it possible for flexitarians to choose between meat, fish and vegetarian dishes for each course. This flexibility is not often found. The taste of us and all guests was met - big praise to the chef!!!The next morning we rounded off the lovely celebration with breakfast with our guests. The breakfast was also of very good quality and external guests could be registered without any problems. The service staff is very friendly and accommodating. There are 5 guest rooms in the estate, as our guests were not from the area, more guest rooms would have been practical. The Gutshof team was always flexible and open. We would celebrate here again at any time.

Stylish, charming, lovingly restored small (castle) hotel with great staffWe were invited to a wedding and as a family (4 adults) we booked two rooms in this hotel because it was next to the church where the wedding took place (St. Otto Church - well worth seeing) and the celebration took place in the neighboring village. We received a warm welcome, check-in was quick and easy. The two rooms were large or very spacious and well equipped, everything was clean and inviting. The beds were very comfortable, bathroom was very clean and soft towels were provided. Wifi works perfectly and quickly. The staff was simply great: super nice and friendly, they gave good tips (e.g. a short visit in the morning before the wedding to the Sanspareil rock garden) and were also very happy to help. We found the breakfast in the light-flooded vault very tasty, tastefully and lovingly prepared, and super sufficient.Unfortunately we didn't try the restaurant, as we were catered for at the wedding, but we will definitely do so on our next visit, everything looked very tasty.Booked as: 4 adults, 2 roomsDuration: 2 nights (Fri - Sun)When: mid-August 2023Why booked: location for the celebration, beautiful pictures on the internet (that correspond to reality)Recommendation: yesPer:- Stylish, charming, lovingly restored small (castle) hotel- Super nice and friendly staff- Room and bathroom very clean and well maintained- Wifi very good- Sufficient parking spaces in the immediate vicinityCons:- nothing
