Large youth hostel in the south of Duisburg not far from the6-lake plate approx. 2.6 KM.Had a double roomHalf board. Nice roomon par with an upscale hotel. Separate bathroom. Separate toilet. Room on the 2nd floor. street side. It's a shame that one bed had a bad mattress. Way too soft. That doesn't work at all. Didn't say anything until we left and apologized. There is a sauna that costs 11 euros. Even a TV in the room is unusual for a youth hostel, but the room has the standard of a hotel. Towels are also provided. You have to use the TV remote controlPay a deposit of 20 euros. Heating in the room, bathroom, toilet works. Not a given in youth hostels. Table football in the basement and table tennis outside. Coffee and drinks are available at the machine. No pubs, restaurants, shops nearby.Breakfast was very good. Everything there including fresh fruit and vegetables. Also whole grain products. Coffee, tea, orange juice.Dinner was good. There was only one dish but there was also a salad buffet. There is also an evening buffet with sausage, cheese, fruit and other things.Overnight stay for two adults in a double room with youth hostel ID: €126.80.Parking directly at the house. Wifi free.

We were very satisfied, apart from a few (personal) little things. We would have liked to play board games with the children in the evening, but the tables available were simply too small for that. It would also be nice if there were one or two seats in the basement so that you don't just have to stand or sit on the floor.

Rooms clean and tidy. I don't know whether you can still call it a youth hostel. Conference hotel is more in keeping with the character of this facility. Everything costs extra, football pitch, sports hall and lounges. It is not known whether this comes close to the purpose of a youth hostel.

Unfortunately the room wasn't clean, there were clumps of hair in the bathroom. There were also several stains on the bed that seemed impossible to get out of the paint.For the money I would definitely rather book a hotel. Too bad!

Worst place in Duisburg, incredibly unfriendly staff and we simply had to wait 4 hours to check in because the rooms weren't tidy. You just can't go hereFood wasn't great either

Nice quiet location. Was here for training. Room not used but apart. Clean and tidy. A DJH of the luxury class.Quiet location. Directly at the sports arena. Great for competitions etc.

We recently spent a short family holiday at the Sportpark Duisburg youth hostel. We really liked the location because there were several great leisure activities within walking distance. We enjoyed the food (breakfast & dinner) in the youth hostel itself. The entrance area is also beautifully maintained and attractive.Unfortunately we had some challenges with our room. On the one hand, it was not clean (among other things, a used handkerchief was found). Furthermore, only one window can be opened in the room. This means there is hardly any air circulation and it can sometimes be unbearably hot in the room on warm days. Furthermore, it is also a shame that the exciting offers in the youth hostel (gym, soccer field) are only available for an additional charge.

Great JuHe, which is more like a hotel. Ideal for athletes and teams with a sports hall, weight room, sauna, five-a-side football field...Located directly at the Wedau Stadium, the sports park is within walking distance.And of course the best thing in the blue and white city are the bright yellow staircases 😉

What a great grandma and grandpa experience. We booked the 5 day family weekend and in the end the children wanted to stay longer. The staff cannot be described in words, so nice and courteous, always helpful and able to fulfill almost all of our wishes. The food was very satisfactory and the kitchen staff was very nice. I didn't necessarily imagine two bunk beds in the "family room", but I'll ask about them in the future. It was a real shame that not all of the sports facilities were always available to us because they were sublet, which doesn't correspond to what was offered on the website. The youth hostel is in beautiful surroundings and we were able to do a lot of things on foot. We would love to come back and take great memories with us. Since there were many like-minded children there, it was a wonderful time for grandparents and grandchildren to stay.

Unfortunately the rooms are not really clean. I find the carpet in the room disgusting. I found garbage in the crack between the bed and the mattress. The shelves are completely covered in dust and you can't even look up.The most annoying thing is that there is no WiFi. It didn't work on all three days and on different devices.It's very noisy and you can't sleep with the windows open. The doors jam and squeak, making it impossible to sleep through the night.In addition, the wooden frames of the beds are higher than the mattresses. You get bruises every time you climb in and out. Sitting on the bed to tie your shoes, for example, is not an option.There are no eggs for breakfast, they are a must for me.

Title: A nightmare of organization and service!Evaluation:I had one of the worst experiences with the Duisburg Sportpark youth hostel that you can only imagine. Despite multiple attempts to clarify and change my booking, I encountered a wall of silence and incompetence. The communication with the staff, especially with Ms. Dudda, was catastrophic. I tried to reach her via email over 50 times only to find that my messages never arrived or went unanswered. Even when a change to my booking was confirmed over the phone, I received no written confirmation, which left me in a precarious position.The technical issues appear to be a known issue, but nothing is being done to resolve them. The inability to manage a simple booking change not only wasted my time and patience but also shattered my trust in this establishment. I had positive experiences in the past, especially under the leadership of Mr. Markus Fischer, but the current situation is a complete disaster. The internal disarray and apparent misunderstanding regarding my booking change are inexcusable.I had to request an urgent and free cancellation and asked to be rebooked to another hostel, but even this reasonable request seems to be too much for the team. It is unfortunate that an institution that was once known for its good service is now conspicuous for such serious deficiencies in organization and customer care. Absolutely not recommended if you are looking for reliable and stress-free accommodation.
