Typically German. 320 euros per night. But on the public holiday on November 1st around 6 p.m. in the lobby it was pure sadness. No bar lounge open, no music, not even subtle, everything dark to save electricity. We wanted to check in, but this evening we turned around at the landing and preferred to go home. Offering only average service and design won't get anyone out of the woodwork here.

For me it wasn't a 4 star hotel room, much too small, no fridge, no minibar, no possibility to make coffee or tea, but the bathroom was very narrow. The bed was a disaster. Once and not again.

There is ample parking space available outside. If you want to park your car in the underground car park, you have to pay extra.I liked the wellness area of the hotel. There is, among other things, a 60 degree and a 90 degree sauna, an ice chamber and an ice bath.The fitness room is rather poor: a multifunctional multi-gym, two bikes and an elliptical trainer. However, the fitness room was never overcrowded, so you could train relatively well on the available equipment.Unfortunately, the "free entry to the Zugspitzbad Grainau" included in the booking details was a bit misleading - it is limited to one entry per person.

We stayed there as a couple for 3 nights. Rooms are clean, bed and pillows were comfortable. We even had a small balcony. Bathroom was a bit small but perfectly adequate.The spa area is always open from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and includes a sports room, several loungers and opportunities to relax. There was tea and water to drink and apples as a snack. There were 2 different saunas, a small cold water pool and a snow room.The breakfast is tasty and extensive, but not necessarily very varied.The dinner is delicious, but of course it doesn't always suit everyone's taste. Mostly classical music is played without any real variety. You have free choice of seating at breakfast, but you are brought to a seat at dinner. Upon request, we were able to sit outside on the other days when the weather was nice with a view of the lake and the mountains. The only disadvantage was that we were not informed when booking or checking in that you had to come to dinner in sporty, chic evening clothes. So we had to go back to the train station for my friend (who only had short, airy shorts) to buy something decent. It was a bit annoying but not the end of the world. You just should have known before booking so that you could pack the right things.As an extra there was a voucher for the swimming pool for 3 hours. At the swimming pool you could extend your stay to the whole day for just €2 per person. It was even just 2 stops away on the bus that stops in front of the hotel. You also had a free bus ticket, which you received via email.There are also several options for things to do without a car in the area.The Eibsee is 3 stations away. There are also many different hiking trails that lead to the Zugspitze. There is a mini golf course 2 stops away. (Only €4 per person). 10 minutes walk away there was a small ice cream parlor with delicious ice cream. There is an Edeka and 2 gas stations about 20-30 minutes away by bus. There was also Zugspitzbowling there, where we could have played for more than an hour even without a reservation. (1 hour for one train costs €26)A second small disadvantage was that the bus only runs once an hour, which was very unusual for Munich residents, as the important buses here run every 10 minutes. Of course the hotel can't do anything about it.Overall it was 3 very relaxing days and it was never boring.

A beautiful hotel with a view of the Zugspitze and a crystal-clear small lake in front of the door. Everything was to our satisfaction. The breakfast was rich and delicious. The room was clean and a nice balcony with a view of the Zugspitze was included.The view of the mountains during breakfast was the highlight. From the hotel it is just under 60 minutes on foot to the Eibsee and the Zugspitz Bahn. We would always come back.

Great location, but we didn't feel welcome as walk-in guests. After 15 minutes we still weren't noticed, even though there wasn't much going on. There was so little going on that the inside tables could be set in peace. Very unfortunate. Would have been a nice end to our hike.

Me and my wife spent our wedding anniversary here. The rooms are nice, but very noisy. The view of the lake is particularly beautiful when there is still fog in the morning. What bothered us were the stoners, 1.who smoked weed on the balcony or by the lake and all this air came into our room. Is it still possible? 2. The bar can be expanded, the older lady is sweet and nice but makes you fall asleep. Younger staff should be there where the music changes every now and then and sets the mood. Cashing in after buying a drink is not the product either. This motivates you not to buy again. It was really boring to fall asleep to. Snacks are also included so that you can enjoy the alcohol better. 3. Dinner and breakfast are self-service. There is enough staff to serve coffee or dinner. This is a service that is appreciated during a stay like this. 4. Little thing I wanted to organize a bouquet of flowers and champagne for our wedding day. I didn't mention the amount, I said it because I didn't care at first, as long as it was there. (because it was so short notice) then he told me X amount how much it could cost and I relied on that. At checkout it was significantly more expensive than advertised. Then it's better not to spend any amount and be happy afterwards rather than have a strange feeling. 5. The pillows: So the standard pillows are a disaster, they generally have to be replaced. We wanted to get advice from the first service employee, who said just go to the room and look through the menu. Then I asked for advice and she said she didn't know. The second one even took me into the pillow room and I was allowed to test it. A little tip when you arrive, choose a pillow straight away so you can sleep well the first night. Overall, it was the location that convinced us. It's so beautiful here it's unbelievable! If the hotel optimizes a few things, it will definitely be worth 5 stars for everyone.

Check-in/check-out went quickly and smoothly.The usual small day from the staff - business as usual.We found the staff at breakfast to be friendlier. There was no variety at breakfast - only on Sunday was there something “different” (cherries with waffles).What is an absolute no-go for me in this price category are rooms (the size of the family room, but great) without air conditioning, mattresses that feel like they have had 20,000 guests behind them, plastic covers in the kitchen for scrambled eggs etc. (a slight canteen vibe immediately arose here) .Regarding the location of the hotel, it has to be said that it is of course close to Zugspitze/Eibsee and, depending on the room, has a great view. A huge problem during holiday times is that from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. you can't get out of the village in the direction of Garmisch (but that may also be because the Griesener Strasse is closed).In summary, we would have liked a more harmonious overall picture and would not choose this hotel a second time.
