Top hotel with great food, friendly staff and an impressive wellness area! We were there for alkaline fasting for a week and the excellent alkaline food made it easy for us.

Absolute recommendation!I went to the Hotel Rosenalp for the Schroth cure. I recommend the hotel in all areas. Friendly and attentive staff in the service area, at reception, in housekeeping... I was able to park my car in the underground car park without a surcharge. The sports therapists are professionally committed and creative, even in rainy weather. Big PRAISE to the exquisite cuisine, also for the Schroth people, a "second helping" could be ordered at any time, everything was freshly cooked and well seasoned, and tasted good even without salt. The crushed muffins are GREAT! I then had a set-up day that left nothing to be desired, and I also received a light breakfast on the day of departure. The buffet is varied and attractively prepared, with something for everyone. I noticed a friendly atmosphere throughout the house!Thank you very much. I'll be back!Yours, K. Rigel

In October I spent 4 days doing alkaline fasting (traveling alone) in Rosenalp and overall I was very satisfied.RoomVery spacious, renovated single room; good facilities (kettle, hairdryer, TV, indoor and outdoor seating, spacious shower); quiet rooms, absolutely no noise; super clean; the floor was a bit cold; there could be more coat hooks on the wall (e.g. in the bathroom for towels); Overall, great!Wellness and spaThe wellness area is very nice and you can find a few places to retreat (water beds, relaxation room, lots of sun loungers); the Finnish sauna with automatic infusion every 15 minutes is great; the pool is at a comfortable temperature; a whirlpool would be great - I found the outdoor whirlpool bath to be too cold; the spa staff is very friendly; the treatments are very professional and absolutely worth it (alkaline bath, massages…); Fruit and/or nuts in the spa area would be another suggestion for improvementEatBasic half board very varied; generous portions (you definitely don't have to go hungry!); Unfortunately, there are often very few or uncreative alternatives: at breakfast there is fruit at the buffet if the alkaline breakfast doesn't taste good, at dinner there are steamed vegetables (although I had stated that I was allergic to pumpkin and with better planning there could have been more for a pumpkin dish /must); Everything was very creative, but I didn't like some of the dishes at all; my highlights: avocado tartare, coconut curry soup, alkaline muesli, lentil bolognese, pumpkin seed mayonnaise; my food no-gos: whole food pasta (in my opinion it has nothing to do with pasta, I prefer vegetables), apple-cinnamon porridge (pungent taste, doesn't taste like porridge), alkaline pizza (the dough was too soggy for me); All in all, it's okay for a few days and of course more creative than you can do at home!Restaurant and bar service staffThe staff was very friendly and attentive; Coordination between the service staff could be better (no "fixed" tables so sometimes you are asked the same thing 2-3 times, on other days no one comes by for a long time); the lady at breakfast is great - high praise :)Unfortunately, the bartender was unpleasantly pushy and even served me in the restaurant twice in the evening and chatted to me. For this reason I didn't have a drink at the bar in the evening! In my opinion, this is a no-go for a hotel in this category!Sports and fitnessVery good sports and activity program with professional trainers (Melania is great!); well-equipped gym with lots of equipment; great excursion options (e.g. guided hikes, hiking tips, excursion information); everything very cleanreceptionThe receptionist at check in and check out was very friendly, as was the gentleman at the reception; When I went by during my stay to ask for directions to the spa reception, there were two older women at the reception who were extremely unfriendly (almost annoyed) that I had a question. I found it very unfriendly and I stopped going there to ask questionsPositionGreat location in the middle of Oberstaufen; 10 minutes walk to the city center; perfect location for excursions e.g. Hochgrat, Alpsee, Imberg etc.GeneralThe hotel app is super helpful. There you can find the weather, the daily program, the daily menus, reserve spa appointments, etc.! Great structure and always up to date. Big praise for this. I have had different experiences in other hotels (e.g. that there is an app, but it has bugs and/or is not always up to date)All in all, a very good 4 star hotel with a great basis for alkaline fasting, therapeutic fasting or simply for a “normal” vacation. I miss the attention to detail or the Allgäu warmth and the family feeling that I know from other hotels in Oberstaufen.

Disaster! I can't understand your good reviews.- Saggy beds- shortly before arrival we had to pay €200 more because the promised room wasn't available, either we pay or we can't check in- Pool and relaxation rooms are extremely cold, unfortunately we got sick. It wasn't 20 degrees- You can tell it's all about profit here, so only the minimum is being done+ sometimes the staff tries very hard, sometimes, like at the reception or the management, there is no interest in satisfaction or understanding.I would recommend booking one of the other hotels in this location.

So I thought it was really great and I was thrilled and will be back. I describe rooms, activities and food/food below.Bar: rather dignified, also in terms of music.Facility overall: Cozy, spacious and well maintained. Not too fancy, but still modern and luxurious. Plenty of seating everywhere. Quiet and great view.Employees: All of them, without exception, very nice, helpful and competent.Swimming pool, garden, saunas: spacious, enough loungers and umbrellas, swimming pool was great, you could swim really long inside and relax outside with massage jets. Because of good weather, I didn't test saunas or inside. But it looked nice and clean.Spa, wellness, medical wellness: Huge selection, top equipment in the fitness room, many courses with great trainers, many spa offers (I had the detox alkaline wrap) through to medical wellness and anti-aging. Physio practice including osteopathy. Doctor's office, nutritional advice. Really very rich offer.Cures/health concept: Schroth, alkaline fasting, therapeutic fasting. I ate light food and lost about 1/2 to 1 kilo without starving. Will try alkaline fasting next time. But you can also have a “normal” vacation.Conclusion: Not for party vacations, more for health vacations, but suitable for younger people (the hotel is for ages 16 and up, but more for adults) and older people. Also very suitable for solo travelers. Overall, you can tell from the many little things that people think about things and don't skimp on things for the guests. I am completely satisfied, I will definitely come back and look forward to it!
