The Hotel Aquamarin on Norderney is a lovely little hotel. As already described in other reviews, the rooms are quite small but nicely furnished and clean.The breakfast is delicious - there is a small buffet. Bread, rolls, muesli and the like can be found right there. You basically order the cold cuts the day before and they bring it straight to your table. This is very sustainable. You can also order scrambled eggs or fried eggs. There are also various coffee specialties.

A wonderful hotel, exactly what I wanted! Super tastefully and comfortably furnished. The breakfast without packaging waste was just as diverse and delicious as it should be. We felt very comfortable. Only the friendliness of the service was a bit too fake for our taste.

The Hotel Aquamarin is in a top location: just a minute or two walk to the sea (promenade with beach) and to the center of the island. The small hotel (13 rooms) is an attractive, older, renovated building that is beautifully modern and clean. The atmosphere there is calm and relaxed. Our room on the upper floor (10) was bright, modernly furnished (double bed, bedside tables, wicker chairs, small couch with table, built-in wardrobes, flat-screen TV) and clean. The size is sufficient, the bathroom with shower is a bit small. The bathroom products available are organic.A small weakness in the shower is that it leaks in places.The beds lie well (but could be a little wider). The internet is sometimes very slow.The staff is friendly.The breakfast is reasonably good with everything you need.Regarding Norderney and its audience, it should be mentioned that we were there during the Corona restrictions, so only 60% of the usual guests were on the island. That was a bit too many people for us, especially since there are probably a lot of clubs there in the off-season. Overall we saw a few families, a few clubs and otherwise a lot of pensioners. We had the impression that this (unfortunately) had a bit of an impact on the gastronomic offerings (we tried a lot). So we couldn't find a place that offered freshly caught fish. Anyone who does this like e.g. B. Expected in Denmark, France or Spain will be a bit disappointed. There don't seem to be any restaurants with sophisticated gastronomic dishes (most likely Oktopussy or Tide). Otherwise, the island is well equipped with tourist infrastructure and cycle paths. However, you pay a hefty tourist tax of 4 euros per day for an adult upon departure at the latest. Whether e.g. B. whether the condition of the cycle paths justifies this, each visitor has to answer for themselves.Our conclusion: Norderney is an island well worth seeing and we found it beautiful and relaxing there. You can go on holiday here without hesitation if you want it to be typically German. If you like things on the North Sea to be a little more individual and relaxed in many ways, you might want to head for Scandinavia. The Hotel Aquamarin is definitely a recommended address for a visit to the island of Norderney.
