Princess Hostel Amsterdam

If you think of it as just a place to sleep, it's not that painful.Since the price is low, I feel like I received a good location and service for the price. I appreciate the friendliness of the reception staff.I only used it on the first day in Amsterdam.I stayed in a room that was entered through the door next to the reception, but I could hear the noise outside, so if you can tolerate it, I don't think it's a problem.I did not see any bed bugs as mentioned in other reviews.I'm a man, but there was a woman parked in the six-seater room, so I was worried if everything was okay.It's cheap anyway. Therefore, please stay with an open mind that a certain amount of patience is naturally necessary. Mine is a good hotel for a cheap price, so I give it a solid 3.

This is the worst place I have stayed in my entire life.Firstly, the hostel room was overbooked. It was a dormitory for 4 people, but to our surprise, we found ourselves in a room with 5 individuals. Even more shocking was the reaction of the only staff member (who was btw completely stone and under the influence of drugs) present from management, who informed us that this situation occasionally occurs but claimed it was not their responsibility. No action was taken by this individual to remedy the situation. We were left to decide amongst ourselves who would have to vacate the room at 10:30 PM and seek alternative accommodation. We ultimately decided to apply the last-arrival rule, and my friend and I remained in the room.Secondly, the room was in a deplorable, unsanitary condition (please refer to the attached photos), with a window that did not fully close, lacking curtains, the room and the hallway smelled strongly of urine, and there was food in the room’s lockers that did not belong to any of the occupants.Lastly, and most importantly, the room was infested with bed bugs (please refer to the attached photos). Around 1:30 AM, we discovered that all four beds were heavily infested with bed bugs. We immediately reported this to the reception desk. Once again, the response was unsatisfactory, as the staff member casually mentioned that other guests had previously reported the same issue and that the hostel was aware, but nothing had been done. Needless to say, the staff member refused to issue a refund and attempted to dismiss us by pointing to a hotel across the street, claiming that they might accommodate us. It became clear to us at this point that the management was fully aware of the issue, had taken no action, and that we had been misled when booking there.Given that no other accommodations were available at such a late hour, we were forced to spend the entire night outdoors, in the cold and rain, and without sleep. We had traveled to Amsterdam to participate in the marathon scheduled for Sunday morning, and this sleepless night completely ruined our weekend. Additionally, given our exposure to bed bugs, we had to address the potential risk of infestation in our own home upon returning, which necessitated the disposal of our clothing and equipment.We have reported this to the booking platform (hostelworld) and they are not willing to help us either. We have sent emails for a refund and a compensation directly to the hostel and we haven't received any response from them.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND ITBeing objective, I cannot recommend this place, although the workers took good care of us, the general condition of the stay leaves a lot to be desired.The interior of the building requires deep cleaning as do the bathrooms and bedroom spaces. There are many small problems that accumulate, such as the sink detached from the wall, the bathroom that is not cleaned, storage spaces in the room whose closure is damaged, door handles that are directly damaged, among other things.At least I can confirm that they wash the sheets. (But I didn't feel clean)The location is honestly good but it does not justify the price or the condition of the Hostel.I thought the price was way above what the place had to offer.I appreciate the attention from the workers, they were excellent, I hope that the hotel authority takes responsibility and deigns to fix the property, if they did, the place really wouldn't be so bad.

Horrible hostel. Cold showers and nauseating smell. The rooms are never cleaned: I stayed 4 nights but they already had the rubbish accumulated in a corner when I checked in and never removed again. Far from the center and Leidseplein, it should be closed. Plugs not working, dirty toilets and all showers flooded. A unique piece of crap. Non-existent kitchen, no common fridge. It needs to be closed

Absolutely horrible. Extremely dirty place, badly taken care of, extremely dirty common bathrooms, no hand paper, no soap. The room has no curtains at all and was handed dirty, with rubbish in the bin. The service was horrible as well: bad explanation and no willingness to help at all. No towels included and the price was extremely high for such a place. Do not come here, it's not worth the place it is.

Low quality toilet and shower

Terrible, the worst stay I have ever had. The room I stayed was full of bed bugs. i asked the staff to change me because I could no sleep at all and again the next room as the same and the same happen.

You are a very dirty administration. I slept one night with you and then I went and cancelled the reservation. I got itchy and he has a prescription from the doctor. I will bring it to the police station tomorrow and I will complain about you to the court. He has some pictures of the dirty bathrooms and dirty mattresses.
