The Location is perfect for Garmish, the Hotel style is supposed to be antique, and it is. Their Bathrooms are modern tho. I'd be careful booking in the summer, since it gets a little hot with no A/C, also some noise from the main street during the night if the windows are open

The hotel has its best days behind it, old furniture and pictures and the old furnishings are not for everyone and not recommended for families, we were a family of five and the room had a double bed, a hard sofa bed and a mattress with a slatted frame wasn't in a good mood to sleep. When you go on vacation to the mountains you expect a beautiful view and an idyllic location that wasn't available here. The service wasn't the best, staff who barely spoke German and couldn't serve you adequately. Sometimes you had the feeling you were in a castle from the Middle Ages. The best thing about the hotel was the pool, spa and sauna area, which was really good and the bathrooms in the rooms weren't bad either.

We spent 5 days here. The staff is very accommodating. You get the guest card. The most important places are within walking distance. Wellness area is great. Breakfast is good. There is coffee with cake and a cold dinner free of charge. Absolutely recommended.

Rooms are very clean and staff is friendly.Strollers/biggies are NOT possible in the elevator.Hotel itself is a bit winding, after walking 2 or 3 times you figure out how to get back to reception :DHotel is 8 minutes away from the start of the cog railway. Shops easily accessible by car.The "cold Bavarian supper" which is included in the price is a handful of sausage and 4 preserving jars, each with a small bowl of soup (which costs an extra 3 euros per jar) and bread to cut yourself. You then have to heat the soup yourself in the microwave. Drinking costs extra in the evening, which wouldn't be bad if a small pot of tea, the water of which was cold and the box didn't cost 20 euros, didn't cost 5.40 euros. We were already disappointed here.Breakfast buffet is very good!It was quickly refilled, there is something different warm every day (white sausage or bacon/bratwurst), the staff here is on point.(Unfortunately the heating in the swimming pool was broken, so we had to go to a nearby swimming pool.)The underground car park is really small, I had to maneuver a few times with a long car, here 10 euros a night is, in my opinion, a bit too expensive. However, there are no free parking spaces around that could be used.If I hadn't said when we left that we had already paid the tourist tax and parking space, we would have had it. Had to pay again, unfortunately the nice gentleman at the reception didn't know his way around.All in all, good price/performance, rooms are nice, also with a nice view.But for the price for 2 nights I was expecting something more "expensive".

The room was beautiful. The manager we checked in was kind and offered us local destinations. My partner and I tried to enter the hotel after hours, we banged on the front door, ranged the night bell several times for an hour. Just to be told by the night staff they “forgot to turn on” on night bell in the reception area, and actively heard and saw us bang on the door. Keep in mind this staff member was in view of the front door and reception and did nothing but ignored us. I’d stay here again, but night staff needs serious, proper training.Again, lovely hotel, night staff is terrible.

Update and clarification, based on the operator's reaction: My companion at the time didn't have any positive comments about the food - she just mentioned that at least the soup was somewhat eaten. This is therefore a false representation of the facts. In my opinion, the pictures adequately show the condition of the food at that time. For two courses we hoped for improvement.We were guests on New Year's Eve for the "New Year's Eve menu". Not only we but also all the other guests we spoke to were extremely disappointed - despite the hefty price of 138 euros per person (payment had to be made in advance of course in order to be able to reserve a place).Briefly about how the evening went:Right from the start we noticed the noisy guests (most of them probably of Eastern European origin), but we didn't think anything of it and looked forward to the food. After a "greeting from the kitchen" which consisted of a kind of slimy cube, which was described as "fine fish terrine and lobster aspic", we were served a soup that tasted strongly like ready-made soup or had no natural taste (quote from the menu: Chestnut cream soup with thyme tips). In addition, it was carelessly prepared. But it's fascinating how good the food sounded on the menu.Fish was served next. The skin was already black in some places from all the cooking. Other parts of the fish were still almost raw. The vegetables were just a big green something. Not fully cooked. The sauce resembled a hollandaise sauce - but it didn't taste like anything (actually it was supposed to be a ginger butter sauce - which ginger?!). We thought to ourselves - well there are still 4 courses to come. Let's hope for the best... Unfortunately we were further disappointed. Among other things, there was poultry, which was raw inside and the taste was - admittedly - not okay. We didn't eat this course because we were afraid for our health. Finally, we were served a cream cake for dessert, which, however, tasted a lot like ready-made cake. We complained to the waitress about the quality of the food. This (understandably) couldn't help us. So we called the service manager to us. In order not to disturb the other guests, we went to a room next door to ask for our money back. We were fobbed off with the fact that Reindls wasn't a star restaurant and we didn't know what we were used to. I'll just leave this quote as it is.We took pictures of the courses so you can see for yourself the quality of the food (see below).In general, we will have bad memories of Reindls and will refrain from visiting again.By the way - the party band was okay - but practically no one danced, which meant that the music died down until midnight. The music was a bit too quiet for our taste. There was no party in this sense. But that was the least of the problems.After midnight (understandably) only 5% of the guests were still present.I hope the review helps other people considering a visit also make their decision. Judging by the other reviews, the cuisine is otherwise much better. We can't understand this - but we hope that the New Year's Eve menu was a one-off problem at Reindls.---Update: More reviews - e.g. B. on TripAdvisor and also here on Google show that similar problems also occurred with the New Year's Eve menu in 2016. So it's probably not an isolated case!Here are the pictures - I quote from the New Year's Eve menu:Fillet of sea bream royale on braised pak choi with ginger butter sauce,Pheasant breasts on sherry sauce, savoy cabbage and mushroom ravioli,Cassata Siziliana with Marsala espuma, cherry ragout.

This hotel has already seen the best of times. The bathroom is new, which was really good.However, I slept very badly. It was very warm in the room, there is no air conditioning and the open window lets in the noise from Bahnhofstrasse.The splendor of bygone times can be seen throughout the hotel. The restaurant, which was supposed to have been good, is closed.I don't know where the four stars are hiding.

Apparently there are big differences between the rooms. I booked a single room in which the furniture and carpet were past their best. The most unpleasant thing, however, was the musty smell. I asked for another room and was offered that, but it wasn't any better.I left and looked for another hotel.Furthermore, the hotel is completely cluttered, getting from the underground car park to the reception with heavy suitcases is an imposition. Overall the whole hotel was very run down.The staff on Sunday evening were apparently temporary workers and seemed overwhelmed.Apparently there are other rooms too, otherwise this review wouldn't exist.

Friendly hotel with courteous staff.Since it's right on a busy street, it's very loud, but the windows are very well soundproofed, so you can hardly hear anything!Great breakfast, large selection of sausage, cheese, jam, different types of bread and rolls.Coffee is included for guests until 5:00 p.m.

Hotel was just ok, stayed for three nights and for what it is, is a little expensive. Breakfast was ok, rooms were suitable but a bit outdated and the rest of the hotel was a bit tired and they didn't top up our amenities at all and when we left they made us pay for a nights car park when we didn't use the car park one of the nights and didn't let us know that we apparently had to tell them before we didn't use it, which is stupid. They also didn't advise us until the end of the stay that we had to pay a city tax. Would definitely look for something else in a slightly better location next time I come to the town. Not worth the money paid.

We spent one night here. The wellness area was positive and the bathroom in the room was also new.Rooms, underground car park, hotel well maintained but simply old. Breakfast ok, but nothing special.A guest in front of us wanted to change his room. Loud, long discussion in front of waiting guests. This can also be solved elegantly.I will only come back in an emergency.
